So the B10 is really good at hoops this year it looks like. With the ACC typically being the the top dog in basketball, the B10 has convincingly taken the crown this year after going 6-1 in the B10/ACC challenge yesterday. Especially with North Carolina and Duke losing convincingly to Iowa and Illinois. Michigan St. also already beat Duke this year as well. This is an extremely good and deep conference this year and will be awesome when the Huskers take down G Tech tonight to add to the conference domination. I could see the B10 with 10 wins over the ACC after tonights matchups.

And our only loss was Purdue blowing an 18 point lead to Miami. and Duke got destroyed in spite of the fact they were getting every call. Even the commentators made note of it. hope we can hold serve tonight.

How long has it been since a B1G team won the whole enchilada?? 20 years?? Not really buying how awesome this conference is in hoops, I think it's a whole lot of good, not great. Maybe this will be the year.

a word of warning to those who think December games portend March success:

beware

the ACC sends all its best players to the NBA year after year. the B1G keeps them around until they graduate.

The Big Ten declares itself the best conference in basketball every year. This looks like a pretty strong year but as Rambo notes, it's not even mid-December yet.

Maybe the ACC needs to keep some around so they can compete with the B1G..Winking

Don't ask me for any grand predictions, but Illinois looks like a monster.

Duke used their 3-2-3 zone and 1.6 man to man last night...

I don't think the ACC sweats the B1G challenge one bit.

as another poster mentioned, they win titles when it matters. the B1G? not so much.
I agree the conference hasn’t won it all in a while, Mich state in 2000, but the conference has represented really well in the tournament as far as final 4 appearances. Since 2000, the Big 10 has had 16 teams in the final 4 so thats pretty darn good imo. Taking account in basketball that multiple mid majors have been in the final 4 during that time span as well (Villanova, Butler, G Mason etc), the B10 has had solid tournament runs, just not winning the final game
