I don’t see anything wrong with this. They are playing good sportsmanship and thanking us for bringing this season back.

Nothing is more resilient than pussies. They can take a pounding and smile about it the next day.
They would need to have been successful at some point for us to know what their measuring stick actually is.
I have no problem with it. In fact, we kind of poked Wisconsin via social media a few weeks ago.
Remember when a bunch of condescending fans would stand up at the end of the game and applaud to the opposing team as they came off the field? Everybody knew going in that is was going to be a piss pounding and the greatest fans on earth appreciated it. Now these same fans are complaining about this? When Nebraska was good, it was just a little trash talking, now that they suck, it is poor sportsmanship I do not have a dog in this fight, but get ready to have a rough day on Friday. If the panties are a little tight from Thanksgiving, you may not want to watch the game!

What husker fans did was called respect. Even when Nebraska would lose, the same fans applauded the opposing team’s victorious squad. Where is the respect shown by Illinois with this?
Granted, we haven’t put a respectable product on the field. I don’t think this is a big deal, what Illinois Athletic Dept put out there. That being said, you coming here wondering about whether Nebraska fans are classy is laughable.
You do know this is a message board, correct? This is a place where fans can be POS’s due to the anonymity of a screen name. Use your brain before you post. And don’t be jealous just because your team at one time or another got piss-pounded by Nebraska and we’re applauded by fans. It’s obvious you never won, because you would have recognized those same fans applauding your victorious team.

It is easy to have allot of class when winning. Take a look at all of these forums and reply back on how you find the fan base being so classy now. I follow allot of B1G teams forums and none come close to these. Fire the coach! Bench the starting QB! Damn, bring back the starting QB! Fire the OC, DC, QB coach, ST coach, team cook, and janitor (ok, the last two were for drama!). Ah, can’t compete in the B1G, let’s go find another weaker conference!

Like you, I read message boards of other teams (unlike you, I don’t post). Iowa fans are not well-liked throughout the conference. Wisconsin and Minnesota fans can’t stand you guys. Illinois loathes Iowa fan. Purdue fans openly make fun of your “but we travel well!” bluster. Penn State and Northwestern fans don’t have much use for the Hawkeye faithful, either. If your internet presence really is representative of what Iowa fans are like in real life, it’s not hard to see why.
All that big talk by Frost in the beginning of his Nebraska tenure has to have motivated the other coaches in the conference to teach him a lesson every time they face him. Winking
Frozone, a mirror is a tough surface to look at. Frankly, there is not a team in the conference that does not want Nebraska to get better. Your team, frankly, is dragging down the conference. Most fans of the B1G would rather see Neb in a different conference. For right now it should at least be a D1 conference, but too many more years in the B1G and that may not be the case.
Again, I’d suggest you look in that mirror yourself. You might not like what you see.
Beyond that, Iowa has had plenty of years where they were “dragging down the conference”. Given that your record in the “glory years” of Iowa football the past two decades is about equal to Nebraska’s during one of our worst runs ever, I think we’ll be fine.
First off, Lovie is a class guy, period. Josh Whitman the Illini AD by all accounts is a good guy. This was a fun jab and compliment.
