Do we not have any quality RBs?

Never thought I'd see the day that we'd not have a single RB that we can depend on! (among other things)

IMO, we have a OL problem. Our biggest threat between the tackles is LM7 in a passing formation. We struggle in the red zone when rushing. On 4th and 1 we handed the ball off to Robinson to run wide, then he fumbled.

as I said in another post, 5 turnovers and 23:39 in TOP will make any DC look bad. Well our OL play will make a lot of backs look bad.

Mills is hurt. I thought Thompkins looked better than Scott but doesn't play. Wandale is basically our best RB again.

I think Scott looking decent. But it’s like they don’t trust anybody but Wan’Dale. He’s gonna get killed at this rate.

I still think the problem is the OL. I'm surprised (and disappointed) in what Greg Austin has not been able to get done.
It is definitelty the offense line. They consistently get pushed back and stand around after plays with their hands on their hips, looking around! The quarterbacks, running backs are running for their lives and trying to make plays!! These linemen are still too out of shape and not nasty as they need to be. Watch the game and see now many times they talk to each other and their body language!! Nothing!!

Duval isn't the miracle worker that Frost claims he is?

Thompkins was out with an injury today as well. Marvin Scott is going to be a really good back but we didn't have a normal fall camp and he's not 100% with the offense. He's got a package of plays. Our lack of a downfield passing game is killing our run game. With this offense we have to have a threat of a passing game in order to run the ball.

IMO, the line problems have more to do with continuity in the lineup and a couple of young players playing than not being in shape.

Last season NU's Offensive Lineman of the Year didn't make Honorable Mention All-Big Ten. That says a lot.

They play Wandale at RB IMO because he is more elusive and only because he requires less blocking from a pathetic OL to get some yards once in a while. Wandale however shouldn't be at RB most of the time except for an occasional surprise play but our OL can't block for "normal" RB's. Wandale's presence at RB says two things: 1) we can't pass worth a damn so he's no threat as a WR and 2) our OL can't block worth a damn so you need the most elusive guy you have back there.

Frost and Held had to talk Wandale and his dad out of pursuing transfer last year after the way they abused Wandale. They assured W and pops that things would be different this year and that he would put up huge numbers out of the slot - that “promise” lasted a game and a half and they are back to abusing the kid because they aren’t capable of fielding a competent team around him.

Whether true or not can be debated - but the Robinson family believe Frost’s incompetence is costing Wandale millions in the NFL because he has to play RB in order to touch the ball in Frost’s “offense”

They are regretting not transferring last year when they already had a foot out the door but instead got swindled into returning only to endure the same shenanigans

Mo Washington should be the running back and a good one. Attrition has decimated the ranks. We need to recruit better here.

we don't run block anymore, we are a passing team now, we pass block, and we don't have joe montana, nor swan and stalworth. we have luke, martinez and tight ends. and because we are a passing team, and focus mainly on pass blocking, our rb's are on their own
