Still having a lot of problems in short yardage or goal line situations. Running Wandale up the middle for 1 ypc isn’t good enough
Everyone’s going to load the box against Luke. He’s a stud running but never going to be a threat throwing. Tmagic all over. more upside throwing.I don't think it was the OL..PSU absolutely loaded the box and sent blitzes knowing full well NU wasn't (can't) going up top
Key on #1 and #7 and there is a 99% chance you stop the play
Only so much the front five can do in that scenario...room for continued growth? Yes, but alot more to the story IMO
Both tackles struggled at times in pass pro. Don't know if that's because Pedo states rushers are that good, or what. But on the interception on the tip Luke threw, tackles got abused, and it wasnt a blitz iirc.I don't think it was the OL..PSU absolutely loaded the box and sent blitzes knowing full well NU wasn't (can't) going up top

Agree w/all. Looks to my untrained eye that there have been a lot of times the QB could pull the ZR from the running back and have a lot of green on the outside. In particular one of the plays on the goal line when Robinson got stuffed. Another thing, should Nebraska sometime in the next days, weeks, years, decades, etc. learn to effectively execute a screen, that could help slow the opposing defense pinning their ears back and collapsing the pocket.1. Penn State's defensive front is the best group Nebraska has played this season, even better than Ohio State.
2. Luke McCaffrey gives away pass plays, and that allowed Penn State to send the house at the pocket. They weren't scared of Nebraska's receivers. Nobody will be scared of them all season.
3. Teams are keying on inside zone. Its mind boggling why Nebraska avoids outside zone or trying get to the perimeter.
- Jurgens looked a bit rusty yesterday.

Well it's probably a combination of being unable to make/complete long passes and an up/down OL performance. The OL can be good at times and not so good other times. I have the feeling they were concentrating Saturday on not committing penalties. Yes, Penn State was able to stack the box but that should also have opened up some passing opportunities I would think.
Not thrilled with the play calling. The other side adjusted at the half and we did not anticipate those adjustments and compensate for them. You'd think with all the brain power of the coaching staff that they would be able to figure out the play calling better.
I made a similar comment last week. Luke was the fastest player in the stadium last week and we couldn't get him outside for a 2 yard score?Someone posted a goal line play against NW where they played 9 in the box. Our blocking was ugly, but more importantly, Luke handed it off right into the teeth of the partially unblocked defense. We had an option to the outside had he kept it and would’ve made it a 3 vs 2 in our favor on the outside. Not guaranteed success, but it would have been the correct read for the situation.
Dial up Billy C. He was a master of the screen to Lucky. Made a living off it.Agree w/all. Yeah, roll him right on that play and if the corner comes off the WR you throw it and if he stays with WR, you keep it. Maybe LM has to outrun a LB to the edge, which he can do.I made a similar comment last week. Luke was the fastest player in the stadium last week and we couldn't get him outside for a 2 yard score?

We used to make great half time adjustments in the days of Osborne. Not so much since then.Have we ever won a 3rd quarter ? Consistently getting out coached at half times.
Didn't Jaimes get honorable mention or third team last year? I'd imagine he does just as well if not better getter in his final season...I think the o line will be vas better in two year, nothing against jamies or farniok or Wilson, have improved but but aren’t big 10 top not even honorable mention
Jaimes was Honorable Mention each of the past two years. Wilson was also Honorable Mention in 2018, but not last year. Still depressing not to even have a 3rd-teamer though.Didn't Jaimes get honorable mention or third team last year? I'd imagine he does just as well if not better getter in his final season...
That's supposed to be there goal of Frost's offense... Run and swing pass to pull safeties up, then bomb over them deep. Wish we'd do it already. Maybe against crappy Illinois next week...Someday we'll have to throw a pass further than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage. All defenses should play us 9 in the box until we respond. That makes it difficult to judge our OL.
