Would be nice to get him. Maybe he would bring Hunter Sailas too. 2 5 star guys would completely change the game for Hoiberg.
Could change his mind though. I think with COVID more kids are staying close to home.
True, but McGowens also "eliminated" Nebraska when he committed to Florida State earlier in the year.
Ya never know with high school kids. I'd put my money on Sallis going to a blue blood, but missing the cut on his unofficial list from a few months ago doesn't make it a done deal for us.
For you guys in all honesty...Sallis. Much better prospect and that is no knock on McGowens.
Sallis will be great wherever he goes, and I do really wish we got him for the optics of keeping the Nebraska kid home. But while he's uber talented and a DEFINITE take if he wants in, McGowens is a better fit for what Nebraska needs.
Long kid who can really shoot. We'll have so many shooters next season, couple that with the ability for most of them to drive, this will look a lot like his ISU teams when they were rolling a few years back.

In regards to Who I would prefer? I’ve never seen McGowwns play so I can’t judge him. I’ve seen Sallis, and I’m not crazy impressed with him. I would say more like a high 3 star. I feel like if your a 5 star, you should completely dominate the metro high schools. And there are times that he just doesn’t.
Also. I think he would be good at NU. But might be forgotten if he goes to Kentucky Duke or Kansas.
