only Scott Frost could proclaim this from day 1 and have it show up so sparingly on the field.

how many offensive starters have we seen benched for performance in the last 2+ years? any?

only Chinander practices what everyone else preaches.

Greg Bell. Mo Washington. Several WRs maybe have had game reps cut. QBs? Not so much. He hasn't exactly been Steve Spurrier when it comes to yanking his QB but clearly Luke has gotten increasing snaps at QB. I won't be surprised if it's either him as the starter or alternating series in the first half this weekend until somebody takes charge.

Mo wasn't benched due to performance. Bell may have been. That's one.

Sure Mo was. Frost got pissed at him for bouncing plays outside when they were designed as inside runs and sat him. It was one of the reasons he requested a switch to CB. Mo didn't want to run between the tackles.

he played every game he wasn't hurt, and we relied on him to carry the ball every game he was available.

I wouldn't categorize that as a benching.

Mo is the guy that we really miss on offense. They should have put him at WR. Could still run him in that Wandale hybrid role.

I have never seen a player as hurt as often as that guy. I think I saw him get hurt 3 times on the same play once.

He was playing hurt from early on. Kind of strange that they expected him to run the ball inside with his frame. Just another baffling coaching decision.

Geez, who couldn't have seen Washington being prone to being hurt. He was a toothpick. People argued with me about it on here and I stated he would never make it through a full season. He had lots of issues going on. I don't think the team misses him once single bit.

Why is this even news worthy? Shouldn't every position be 'open' where the best player always plays??

Feels like coach speak to pacify the fans and media.

Maybe if we had put Mo at quarterback, we'd be 2 and 0 and ranked in the top five.

I'm waiting for some linemen to get benched, then I'll think maybe we are turning the corner. Not holding my breath. Until we replace the upper classmen on the line, we will continue to struggle offensively - especially in 3rd and short or " ___ and goal" situations when you need to be able to get a push from your line.

How much does losing our starting center contribute to the crappy push vs Nwestern?
Will he be back any time soon?
It really shouldn't matter at all.

The level of talent we have (on paper) compared to NW should more than make-up any drop from losing Jergens.

LMC was the fastest human in the building Saturday. If we didnt have the push up front and were gonna get fancy, couldn't he have beat them to the edge from the 3?

I believe Juergens is quite a bit better than Farniok... to say it shouldn’t matter at all is wrong. Not to mention doesn’t the center make the line calls? Something Juergens struggled with last year and it showed.

I think his absence was felt more than you want to admit.

if caf would have been able to finish the 2 long drives he would be the starter. right now it's a 50/50. between these 2 qb's it's up to who can finish and not turn it over at this point.

Speaking of Mo, what has become of him? Did he play any where after Nebraska? Where is he and what is he doing today?
Transferred to Iowa. Iowa fans then rescinded prior commentary and concluded he deserved a 3rd chance. KKKirk brought him in to diversify their roster.

Agree there could be dropoff, but 3 years in, and an overall deep OL room, and a Center with chronic history of injury.... Coach’s job to have depth ready to play.

I don’t disagree. But that doesn’t mean Farniok should be just as good as Juergens. We are a long ways away from the 90s when plug and play was a thing.
