Special Teams was bad

Alabama usually has the worst kicker in the nation but wins the championship quite often. I think it might be a little more than special teams
I must have watched a different Husker game today. Offense was bad (really bad) on the Husker game I watched.
I wasn’t trying to downplay any other phase... only think it needed thread level addressing. It hurt us today.
Give us specifics. We missed a field goal, had a short punt and capable kickoff to the 40-yard line that Northwestern ended up scoring on. That's about average for Nebraska
And multiple returns that NW was able to capitalize on.
Amazing that other teams can find ways to returns punts/kicks but little ole Nebraska can’t.
I’d say dump Mario’s *** and find a real special teams coach if we are stuck with Frost roaming the sideline for the next few years.
Inexcusable touchback on (first?) punt not aimed at sideline netting us only about 15 yds, short 2nd punt, couple big returns given up, missed FG and muffed punt. No return yards for us.
3rd phase did not help matters other than getting us almost as many points as the offense (when D helped out the O)
We had a special teams coach on the last staff land he was the highest paid assistant.
