I believe there was a rule change and it is no longer simply by the back of the pads but also the jersey at the nameplate area (anyone can correct me if that is wrong)

One odd one was the PI in the end zone, looked like a face mask before the ball got to our TE and the announcer was adamant that it was good defense.

The color commentator managed to be more talkative and an even bigger dipshit than Matt Millen (love Matt Millen but he's an awful announcer). He would try to say the most obvious stuff and act like he was smart for pointing out what we all saw. The end zone PI when our TE was getting his head ripped off before the ball got there and the announcer being like "I didn see nuttin" was just icing on the cake for how bad he was.
