Why is anybody surprised?

This is the same coaching debacle for the last year. Stopped watching halfway through 3rd quarter. I knew the outcome when on 3rd and 8 you call a 3 yd pass... Frost needs to do something about getting a play caller, he sucks at it! As long as Frost is here, not sure I want to watch any more games, we know the plays and the results. A second grader can scheme a defense against him and win.

I wasn't surprised, game went about how I expected it to. Mentally weak players and ****** play calling on O, basically the same way it's gone over the last several years.

I’m glad I quit sucking off the kool aid tit after last year’s debacle of a season. The perennial tit suckers are still alive and well making excuses. At least it provides some entertainment watching them dance and justify this sh*t show.

I bet I run it 3 times in a row on 2 and goal from the 3 and score.

That's play station coaching and it would have worked.

I don't expect anything but frustration at this point. Frost is not the answer and now I just have decide when to quit watching altogether.

McCaffrey's interception reminded me of that Seattle game when Wilson threw it into a crowd when he had "Beast Mode" behind him. Especially after Mills reaction.

Imagine if we just had 3 or 4 leaders on the team that actually cared about winning, that would make a huge difference. Instead we have mentally weak quitters who find a way to lose or make stupid mistakes every time the team actually has an opportunity to take a step forward and show progress.

Well I'm surprised because Nebraska has more talent than Northwestern and many of the other teams we'll face (obviously not the Ohio States) but Huskers can't make that talent pay off.

How many first downs were called back on penalties? How many penalties called back big plays? May have superior talent, but are lacking in development. I am not seeing progress on offense, only regression. Defense played well.

Well that illustrates the point, doesn't it.

This team is not discipline, way too many penalties (pre snaps penalties too), no creativity on offense, turns the ball over and hate to say it but, it's all on the coaches! Also, can be throw the ball down the field, at least more than 5 yards???

Nobody should be surprised or mad anymore. This is what Nebraska football is now. Our absolute ceiling might be 7 win seasons unfortunately it is what it is. Forget winning the West I just want to make bowls now

Not sure I understand what you're asking. I type that clearly player leadership is an issue in the program, and you want me to name leaders? My point is that there are no effective leaders on the team.

Im not surprised, there have been multiple signs during Frosts first two horrible years he is a mediocre HC.

I guess some were hoping he would grow. But his ego is far too big. But hey, he talks a big game.

I believe we lose to teams of lesser talent for a few reasons, and one of them is that the other teams have players that tend to want to win more than ours do. Go look on Instagram now and you'll see a bunch of players posted individual highlights and stats, and it doesn't seem to bother them at all that they just gave away a game to a garbage opponent that had no business winning that game.

I hate it when fans say “mentally weak players” or overly criticize players. IMHO we have weak coaching and players put into spots designed to fail rather than succeed. Martinez is an average QB, makes some dumb plays and has bad decision making skills but I don’t consider him mentally weak. We’ve got to have coaches who can teach these kids and develop mental toughness. There are no bad players, only bad coaches. (Ok maybe a stretch but you get my drift) Cheers

Frost needs to take a really hard look at his staff. This is not the CUSA. We expect to win 75% of conference games, you need to assemble a staff that can accomplish that.

Martinez has all the tools to be a good QB.

But, Frost/Verduzco did a number on him. Mcaffrey looks anything bu polished behind center. Make no mistake, he won’t make the progress we need at the position.

I believe our offense system is incorrect for our offensive talent.

7?? The only way we get to 7 is if we schedule 9 FCS schools and Illinois each year (has to be that many cause we’ll lose 2-3 of them).

Frost needs to look real hard in the mirror first and evaluate his play calling. After the first drive and the “scripted” plays are called...his play calling ability plummets. It is like Groundhog Day every single game day. :(

I didnt say that was the only reason they lost, dip ****. Why don't you explain to me why we lost since you claim to have so many hot takes?

The main reason is the head coach. The players are getting worse under these coaches. The receivers do not get open. The QB can’t throw the ball. They get stupid penalties. Every other team looks like they are having fun, our players look like they are shitting down their pants on every play. Basically every position has zero star talent playing. We are not better than any BIg 10 team after three years of Frost.

Frost's ideal offense is what we say at UCF. Does anyone think AM can run that offense?

Do the coaches know how to coach the talent that is there? From what I have seen, the answer is a big fat NOPE! Frost coaches scared and the players pick up on it. To scheme against Frost, keep you safeties 10 yds deep, roll up the corners and wait for the pass to come out to the flat or to the LOS. No imagination, no misdirection, can not stick to the run game, extremely ineffective.

I’m surprised how long it takes for Frost to adapt. It’s like other coaches adapt faster both on the field and off. Rather than being ahead of the situations he’s always playing catch up. Others playing chess while he plays checkers. No way Tom Allen, Fitz, the Maryland coach should have their team look better than ours. We’ve had 3 full years of his guys.

Some of these third down plays make your head explode. Early in the game after a holding penalty, it’s third and 18 but NU needs about 10-12 yards to reach FG range. We get a five yard completion, then punt it into the end zone. Even for a high school team, that’s a terrible giveaway of 3 points.
