I'll set the over/under at about 20 carries. I personally expect the overs, with a good amount of play action thrown into the mix.

Yeah with the lack of talent in the upperclassman and the lack of experience with you young wrs we are going to need an effect run game to open up the passing game. 20+ carries for Mills would bode well for our offensive performance. It will be interesting to see if we press their wrs more on defense. We did a good job in run defense without stacking the box against OSU, but the lack of pass rush will hurt us against Northwestern too.

As of right now, Cam Jurgens is out for the game and maybe the next game. I’m sure Will Farniok or maybe even E Piper can handle things but this will throw things off a bit. We have some legit depth now on the Oline but this is at center. We all seen how that can impact a game.

The other part, we will be playing probably the best run defense in the BIG 10 and they won’t be easy to run against. I’m with you guys, I want to see Mills touches go up. We will see how Frost and Lubick attack this NW defense with 6 seniors on the front 7.

What happened to Jurgens?

something to do with that foot of his. The man can’t catch a break.

Will Farniok has been in the system for a couple years now too. He’s got to have a good feel for the offense and should be able to manage the Oline for now. But he won’t be anywhere near Jurgens level out there.

First I've heard about Jurgens. Well that's craptastic !

While the plan should be for Mills to go over 20 touches every game, a more realistic over/under for him based on Scott's allergy to giving him the ball is probably like 11.5

This is one of those games where I'd believe any outcome. We might kill them, it might be a high scoring OT game, it might be an ugly defensive battle, or they might kill us.

The story is still the same for NU, if they get out of their own way they could really jump up and get some teams. But they don't get out of their own way.

Did Jurgens get hurt on the fumble return TD during OSU game? I seem to remember him chasing down defender and taking a tumble, looking like he may have pulled something.

He got hurt at the end of the first half. A reporter tweeted a pic of Cam on a cart before halftime. Cam then was chasing the OSU defender early in the 2nd half and looked hurt again.

Sort of related topic....but I’ve noticed If husker fans listed their preferred touches by player it ends up being about double the snaps in a given game.
