Wacking itself off on how important it is to vote (in addition to so many other outlets)? Did these non political entities step into the importance of civic duty with intent of consistency was this a 2020 deal. Will be interesting how much is invested in the concept in future elections

If you are asking if this was political, the answer is yes. Everything these days seems to be politically motivated.

My theory is no matter your political leaning, if you are a regular working person .. there are a lot of changes coming that you won’t like.

So they want to be able to say “hey... you voted for this.”

I don't understand why encouraging people to vote is controversial. The US typically does not do well on getting its citizens to the polls. Don't you want everyone to vote? Or are you just looking for anything at all to winge about?

Automation, a permanent unemployed underclass from the pandemic, more surveillance...

There’s only one part dude, the money part
Ah I thought you were just talking political folks. yeah we’re definitely looking at other changes In the world and the political folk need to be helping us get ready for the future, but both sides won’t do a damn thing.
I think Americans are pretty resilient though, we’ll adapt and survive.

Between the two parties, the right in this country is the one responsible for pushing surveillance on its citizens. The left pushes for civil liberties, which the right describes as communist. This isn't even up for debate. As for a permanent unemployed underclass, that is more a month thing. The wealthy need low wage laborers, always have, and they have no real incentive to do better unless forced.

There is a huge difference between encouraging people to vote and then willfully manipulating and influencing the outcome of a vote. Truth be told, not everyone should vote because they are not even remotely aware of any of the issues or policies a candidate is advocating. It takes a lot of time, energy, and research into a candidate. And yes, I recognize there will be legitimate differences of opinion when that actually occurs.

There are way too many examples of people getting interviewed who have virtually no clue about current events. Yet their vote counts just the same as someone who spend a lot of time keeping updated.

I have heard the big ten conference is considering going to an electoral college type of voting format where each school is awarded a certain number of votes based on

years in the conference
Academic rank of the instutuon
Size of endowment
Student enrollment - for nonprivate schools only
State population
Diversity of the state’s population

How’d mass surveillance do under obama? Shrunk down to nothing right?

Not sure what you want to call it but more votes than any other candidate in the history of our elections is impressive .....even more impressive that he is not a good candidate

Facebook gave 250 million dollars to Wisconsin to get out the vote. The money went to the five largest cities in Wisconsin which voted 82% with Hillary. So no, I'm not necessarily on board with 'getting out the vote'. Anyone too stupid or who doesn't have even the tiniest amount of initiative to make a plan to vote shouldn't be voting.

I really can't tell if you're blatantly dishonest or just have a huge blind spot. Five major companies - Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, Apple and Facebook are basically in the surveillance business. They want all of your data and they already have it. All 5 are run by multibillionaire left coast elitists. Every one.

I can dispute many, but let me start by your claim that everything you've posted is a fact. Word choice matters.
Keep going. Your response is the equivalent of a Facebook fact check. STATEMENT - Paul Revere famously cried out that the British are coming! FACEBOOK FACT CHECKER "Determined to be mostly false, the British Army is coming, not the entire country.

Did I predict a blue wave? I think I've always maintained that the vote would be close. But, fwiw, it looks like Biden will flip at least three states, and win the popular vote.
The only popular vote he’ll win is those crooks at the polling booth changing votes for him ,it matters not who ,votes, it matters who counts the votes, a famous Russia quoted.

Examples of your position on civil liberties. I believe you are completely incorrect.

I've given significantly more depth and consideration to my comments than you have to yours. If I cite something, it isn't Facebook, it isn't something a talking head blathered on about on Fox or CNN, it isn't something Trump shouts out with zero to back his claim, it's something that is vetted and spoken to by scientists, legal experts, medical experts and so forth. You're angry and lashing out. Drink a beer, and chill out.

I guess we choose to focus on different things.

True statement. Some of us focus on truth and reality while others focus on lies and misinformation. The fact you have never answered a single one of my straight forward questions with facts in these threads tells volumes. Have a good day, it must be weird living in a world of make believe everyday.

That is really interesting. In the end a few powerful people run the country just has always pretty much been the case. It’s now just tech geeks

That you support and believe Donald Trump's completely baseless claims of widespread voter fraud tells me all I need to know about your "facts." And your questions are anything but straight forward, they are based on inaccuracies and speculation. It'd be like me asking you why dogs meow because I saw a youtube video. You are a simpleton. 2x2 still equals 4 in every universe except yours.

I don't understand this argument, or rather, I agree, but isn't this what we get with the Citizens United ruling? Everyone is pointing fingers and upset at how things are working out, but conservatives pushed this argument to SCOTUS. Most people assumed that big donors would shower conservative candidates with money, and they have, but money has also flowed to liberal candidates, and small donors are contributing in droves. Unintended consequences, but this is the system we have. I wish we'd change it, but we probably won't.

Do you condemn antqueefa and blm violence? Even with biden winning in the election as of now they are getting rowdy and violent in many cities across the US. IMO the violent ones need to f right off before citizens start condemning them with lead during their violent rampages.

Of course I condemn violence, but I also condemn ignorant attempts to sully the message of BLM, which is one of equality. Do you condemn right wing militias?

Nope, not all of them at least. The ones who tried to do whatever to Gretchen Whitmer would fall under the category of domestic terrorism, even as much as I dislike the woman. Antifa in general falls under the definition of domestic terrorism also. I get threatened every once in a while by some of their members online. I also have no problem saying black lives matter and meaning it but I will never accept their organization or its bolshevik values.
