I never thought I would see the day when Liberty, Costal Carolina and Marshall not to mention Indiana are all ranked in the top 25 and Nebraska isn't even getting votes. Got to be rock bottom or very near.

Rock bottom was Riley‘s final year… This isn’t even close to that. Remember, it is 2020. If not for Covid, the rankings would look different.

I’d say rock bottom was 2018 when we started 0-6. We’ve been 9-9 since then.

"Not to mention" is a weird phrase because it is always followed by a mention.

I think we could beat those teams handily and they would be blown out worse by OSU. The big 10 is harming its members football teams for years to come.

Why for years to come?
Playing, then not playing, then playing with severe restrictions, then cancelling games other leagues would play, and not allowing fans. This is in addition to scholarship restrictions (oversigning) compared to other leagues as well as higher academic requirements. The big 10 just doesn't care as much about football compared to other conferences. Top recruits are probably thinking twice about going to the big 10 and pac 12.

Football is just a game, lives are at stake regarding Covid.

Nebraska aside, there could be several G5 teams ranked higher than EVERY Big XII team at the end of the regular season. It would be really strange to look at the December 21st AP Poll and see the following teams listed ahead of every team in that conference, but it very well could happen.

Cincinnati - Defeated Memphis, 1-loss Army and 1-loss SMU and have Houston, UCF, and Tulsa plus CCG remaining

Boise State - BYU is a defacto elimination game for both teams and the Wyoming game in Laramie on December 12th looms large, but the Broncos should be heavy favorites in every other game

Coastal Carolina - Troy, App State, and Liberty (a team that will finish with at least three losses despite currently being 6-0) are remaining resume builders plus a probable ULL rematch in CCG

Marshall - Remaining schedule is cupcake city and their current SOS is a paltry 97th in the country; the Herd should run the table and look great doing it

If it's not our Huskers I hope it's one of the little guys getting a shot this year and the committee should have multiple options.

It’s very close to that. Haven’t had a winning season during this past Presidential term have we? A turd from Riley is still a turd when it comes from Frost and please stop bringing Riley’s teams up. (I have a feeling people will still be bringing up Riley in Frost year #6). This year is Scott’s team. He can’t use that excuse anymore.

By the way Schiano didn’t blame his predecessors for going 3 seasons or more without a conference win and the ****** culture he inherited. He went out and ***** slapped a Mich State team that just beat Michigan in the Big House.

I hadn’t really thought of it that way; but I guess that has to be considered improvement. 9-9 in our last 18 games. We were 4-14 in the 18 they preceded, so actually a pretty good jump.

Another 5 game improvement in the next 18 would be pretty, pretty, pretty good.

There have been too many rock bottoms to speak of in the last 20 years. At one time I thought rock bottom was only beating KU by 31 points when Neb was favored by 38. God times have changed.
