I think this position group has been the worst part of the team the last few years. People complain about the defensive line play, but all of them are in the NFL from last year.

Ruud needs to put up this year or go away. Why will the linebackers be better this season?

I’m with you on that. A few gave me hell when I said this but our DLine play hasn’t been bad, it’s been our LB play that’s been bad. Can B Ruud and M Dawson get our boys focused in, ready to rock and make some players this year and on....?

OLBs: Jojo Domann is an all conference type talent, Caleb Tannor and G Nelson both have potential and hopefully Dawson can get the most out of them. Jackson Hannah has since moved to OLB and was a former 4 star LB from Tennessee and we have a number of new faces that could step up (Niko Cooper, B Gunnerson, J Butler and so on)....

ILBs: we return W Honas and Collin Miller. Both are ok to manageable ILBs and hopefully will improve some this year. Nick Henrichs is our future at ILB and he was already pushing for playing time as a true freshman. Now that he’s 100% and even bigger, look for him to make some moves. Then we have Mauga-Clements, G Snodgrass and Luke Reimers, we have some options there.

Nelson doesn’t have all conference ability. But all conference effort for sure.
What's the difference? He got on the field and played well as a true freshman. As long as he keeps improving, he can definitely be an all conference player.

If Caleb Tannor starts, we are in MAJOR trouble. He is not very good at all.

completely disagree there. I’ll be the first to admit he was no where near ready last year or the year before as a true freshman but he’s got plenty of talent. Dawson is the perfect coach to get it out of him.

Honas and miller sucked last year. So did mo Barry.

We’ll find out right away if Honas and miller can even get into proper position, let alone actually tackle ball carriers week 1.

God forbid we have a playmaker at lb for once since Lavante David.

while we are at it, the Oline sucked, D Mills sucked, Wan’Dale Robinson sucked, hell the offense and defense all together sucked, Scott Frost and his staff sucks. My lord, I don’t see why we are even trying, we need to give it up completely and never play football again. Good enough? Everything about our Huskers suck....
Spot the lie (you can’t)

Robinson is a nice piece. Mills played well to end the year.

Offense absolutely was atrocious last year. Linebackers are trash. Secondary leaves a lot to be desired. Playmakers lacking everywhere.

Improvement this year would be A very very welcome sight for sore eyes.

Good for you, you hate everything about our team and you think everyone we got sucks. I’m proud of you my man. Forgive me if I don’t jump with you... ;)
I hate losing. I hate pretending our players are good with zero evidence on the field to back it up.

Until we’re not, we’re a 4-5 win team.

If you’re not going to give me a straight reply then don’t reply at all.

I did, I was as straight as I could be. They all suck my man. Rambo is on mission with me right now and ripping apart my work, so I’m helping the man out. Give up all hope...

Your work?

Listen the guys look good in their uniforms and the coaches are saying the stuff coaches say.

We need to win.

I tend to like your stuff, tend to back you on almost everything you say but lately you been hating on me and not returning the favor.

And yes, I took some time broke down my thoughts on LB above just for you to get on later and **** on it. I’m usually one of the optimistic ones on this board....it gets old seeing the we suck, they suck, everyone sucks. Screw it, fire them all.

No kidding it gets old. It’s not coming from nowhere.

We have sucked. And we need to play better. Until we do, they've earned the reputation their on-field play has given them.

Honas, Miller, tannor, the secondary, the quarterback, the tight ends, most the offensive line and most the coaching staff are what their record says they are.

Sorry if this offends.

Honestly, what offends me is when you directly pick out my post and rip it apart. I think you did that to 4-5 of mine before I started back at you with the whole we suck and everyone sucks stuff. I accepted the first few and thought hey, he’s got his view and opinions but then bam, bam and bam...

in all honesty, I’d actually understand if we just played and we played like absolute garbage. But we haven’t yet and I don’t think it’s to much to ask to at least take a wait and see view with this season. I’m different then you, I seen plenty of positives for this season and I disagree with your takes on some of those players sucking. Two different opinions.

tell me, when was the last time you seen me hammer on your posts or takes? Honestly?

It’s nothing personal.

I have a longer memory, I guess. We’re going to largely see the same guys this year who have just played and played like absolute garbage.

I’m taking a wait and see approach to the season. But the taste in my mouth from the last 2 years hasn't improved one iota.

They’ve certainly all sucked to date.

Like I said, Robinson and mills are nice pieces. Everyone else needs to either significantly improve or be replaced.

Well partner, I think we'll all be surprised how much better our players offensively will look mostly due to "finally" starting to have a legit OLine. I bet that could make a HUGE difference. Also our center got his hikes together the 2nd half of last year which should help boatloads this year.

Our defense surely wasn't great but they have improved the last two years. Also, if we consider how rough it was for the blackshirts with last year's grossly inept offense & horrible beyond belief special team.

Anyways......we'll see!!

i can understand that. We have to do better this year. End of story. I’m honestly with you, I hate the fact we have struggled like we have the last 3 out of 4 years. We have to start playing better as a team.

you are speaking the same language I am and seeing the same positives I do. Offense as a complete unit should improve and look and play much better. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Top 25-20 offense, if not better.

And defense, Chin has indeed improved our defense every year he’s been here. I’d have to assume we will take another step forward this year.

Not to mention our special teams should be light years better then last year. The Auburn Tiger guy should make an instant improvement there.

Fair enough compadre'. If we're right.....you're gonna love slamming down the cold ones while watching the BigRedMachine kick *** & take names.

Just hang in there....you'll see some real-deal improvement (that we all deserve).

Yes sir! I can fully understand while some people are losing hope as it's been rough sledding for a longtime. But a decent to good OLine should help a LOT. Special team can't possibly be any worse......some decent play from them will really, really, really help also.

It's gonna be fun partner!

We are right on schedule for year 3

we finally have a center that might be able to hike the ball and special teams can’t be worse

What have you seen from Tannor that makes you think he is going to be good? He looks the part, but until he proves it on the field he is a pretty big bust.

Henrich - Will have a great career at Nebraska
Reimer - I want him on the field more. Him and Henrich I am all for going fwd
Mauga-Clements - Has some good speed and tough kid. Will need to add some weight
Honas - I see flashes but overall has been a disappointment
Hannah - Came in a little more behind than we wanted. Still has potential
Miller - Did not play well last year. Played a lot on the D Line in HS

OLB
Domann - Playmaker; needs to get more consistent
Tannor - Has the measurables but I hate how we use him. Needs to be a pass rush specialist.
Nelson - Still young and out of position but will have a solid career at Nebraska
Cooper - Has raw talent and ability to hold edge with pass rushing abilities
Gunnerson - Was better than Nelson in HS (IMO) just needs to stay healthy. Solid against the run
Butler - Has the length and some closing speed reminding me of R Gregory

I disagree with you on Nelson being out of position. Over 95% of the time last year all we asked that OLB position to do was stop the run and pass rush. There were very few times where we asked them to step back into coverage. That OLB position is basically just a 4-3 DE with what we are asking them to do in this defense. Nelson is the perfect size and type of player we need for that position.
