But a bum like Bookie can be.
Who gives a ****? Really don't care what a guy is ranked coming out of high school.why a 5 star?
based on his NFL career to date? - should Danny Woodhead been a 5 star? Baker Steinkuhler a 2-3 star?
he was a 6th round draft pick
very serviceable NFL back - good not great - a true professional -
of peer running backs at Nebraska - he would be 3rd behind Ameer and Helu based on his time at Neb
not sure how it is clear he should have been a 5 star?

Rex is a feel good story. It ain't that deepwhy a 5 star?

so one concludes Rex should be a 5 star based on feel good story criteria or because Bookie has underperformed therefore Rex should be a 5 star?
you are right it isn’t very deep
I think you are taking this a bit far and going a bit over the top with it. Could Rex been a 5 star going off of his college career and how he’s doing with the NE Patriots? Most definitely, maybe not a Top 5 or top 10 5 star but he could have easily been a Top 30s to late 20s 5 star player. Stop turning an ant hill into a mountain you troll. My Lord.
Going off of their talents and what they accomplished as Husker RBs? Yes, either player could have been deserving of a lower tier 5 star ranking.should Ameer and Helu been 5 stars as they had better careers than Rex at Neb?
stars aren’t determined by play in the pros

players get their rankings because said recruiting site thinks said player could be and should be an all conference and/or All American type players. And that’s exactly what Rex Burkhead, Roy Helu and Ameer Abdullah was. You can go back and find countless 5 star RBs that ranked in the Top 35-16 range that did absolutely nothing in college and were busts all together.
Myself, I wouldnt call him a 5 star Rb but maybe a Top 100 RB. But I can definitely see the mans point.
wow - Pelini with 3 - 5 star type or top 100 RB backs on his roster in 7 years
Twist it as you will. We all know you will. Another way to look at it, Bo Pelini had talent like that but yet couldn’t ever win the big ones. He’d win the games he was supposed but then get absolutely BLOWN out of the waters by the big boy teams.wow - Pelini with 3 - 5 star type or top 100 RB backs on his roster in 7 years
Hey jlb, I want you to say one positive thing about Nebraska football for each negative comment.

Why should the positive comments equal the negative when after a new hire 2 years ago - Neb is still a bottom feeder in the division and has failed to improve by a single game in the conference that was achieved by possibly the worst coach Neb has had in 60 years
Mike Riley - 3 conference wins 2017
Scott Frost 3 conference wins in 2018 and 2019
Pretty sure had we hired Luke Fickell or Jeremy Pruitt in 2018 and gotten these results the positive:negative ratio would be much different on the board
I don’t want to not pick and I could be wrong but stars are actually somewhat based off of “perceived potential” meaning that if you have a guy that went had a low star rating that is shredding up the NFL then yes by all mean technically they should have been rated a 5 star because their potential took the to the NFL and he lead the to be all stars or whatever...should Ameer and Helu been 5 stars as they had better careers than Rex at Neb?

That explains why you're here. Nebraska's a bottom feeder and so are you.
How many Superbowl rings does Ameer or Roy have clown?
This me when I read anything jlb321 spews onto these message boards....mostly ramblings of an obsessed stalker of Scott Frost
you masturbate when you read my posts?
Only managed iowa-esque results with them too.wow - Pelini with 3 - 5 star type or top 100 RB backs on his roster in 7 years

what a loser. bo is a sh*t stain on NU history.
Frost needs to win. Nobody disagrees.completely agree ... averaging more than 9 wins per year and winning the division more than 40% of the time is severely underachieving and a good litmus test for our current coach
Frost needs to win. Nobody disagrees.
Now do passive aggressive, cowardly sh*t stains on message boards.
If I wanted to read this opinion I would have 10 months ago, and roughly every 3 weeks since.he will win ... I have said all along that Neb will have similar results to Iowa - maybe a little better and it will be embraced because no one could do a better job than Frost — the team will get a bit better and expectations lowered until a symbiosis of results and expectations meet just north of average and it will be good enough.
you see it in salts post above -“ when ... the Huskers are back to competing for trips to the BIG 10 title game again“
Pelini did that each of his 7 years - which wasn’t good enough - Frost wasn’t hired to get Pelini results - but after 2 years he will crowned king if he merely is able to match them

We get it. It’s no less profound than the first time you posted it.
If those are the results I, personally, will not be satisfied.
Time for some original thoughts.
I’d rather enjoy more of your original content than this tired take, which is as much of an indictment on the fanbase as it is the program.Would you rather I alter my opinion at every turn to provide cover for Frost as nearly everyone else here does
go back and read expectations after the hire -
predictions going into year one and then contrast those with the excuses after year one ... by the same people
expectations going into year 2 and then the same recycled excuses
year 3 will be a free year ... if the record is good it will count, if it is poor it will be chalked up to the pandemic ...
Carl was a good DC. Much better than Papuchis.I'll be watching Pelini in the SEC west. It will be fun too see if he still knows defense. I always thought Carl had the better defensive mind.
Can't you just see how the year plays out? If we don't get any better this year and go 2-7 or 3-6, I'll be right there with you about Frost and the rest of the coaches. Frost still has overwhelming support from the fans and administration. It seems kind of pointless to constantly ***** about him and the team at this point. Why should the positive comments equal the negative when after a new hire 2 years ago - Neb is still a bottom feeder in the division and has failed to improve by a single game in the conference that was achieved by possibly the worst coach Neb has had in 60 years
