Looked the same as he did in 2018, pre-Jurgens. Hoping the move the guard finally leads to something positive.I don’t remember being impressed with Farniok last year either. Maybe some of that was struggles as Jurgens was figuring things out, IDK

He wasn’t good, either. The hope is that it is true that he fits much better at Guard and can actually be a strength there, as opposed to the liability (at least in pass pro) that he was at RT.I don’t remember being impressed with Farniok last year either. He played with an injury last year and we didn't have anybody more talented than him to step in. I expect him to be better this year. IF not, he'll get passed.the faster wilson rides the pine the better, IMO
that guy stunk out loud last year
The line calls with Jurgens were a mess for a good part of the early season. That line got a lot better by the last game. I expect good things from these guys this year.Looked the same as he did in 2018, pre-Jurgens. Hoping the move the guard finally leads to something positive.
Line calls are definitely important, but NU seems to have one that means, "Briefly make contact then take the rest of the play off."The line calls with Jurgens were a mess for a good part of the early season. Well I'm certainly not an expert on Frost's offense, but I think there are some scheme concepts that rely heavily on timing and brush blocks to get to the next level. Between the screwed up line calls, bad snaps and AM's ineffectiveness there were a lot of things that just weren't in synch. I expect that to be much better this year with the experience we have now in the O line.Line calls are definitely important, but NU seems to have one that means, "Briefly make contact then take the rest of the play off."
I believe Wilson was also injured most of the year last year as well.If Wilson is pegged as the starter now, I am assuming he has stepped his game up. Other players have improved, I gotta believe Wilson has as well. I hope.
My memory thinks Hixon was the bigger liability, so I’m happy he’s out. Wilson also didn’t impress, but the competition will drive that spot. Austin already said he plans on giving Wilson more rest (less reps).the faster wilson rides the pine the better, IMO

great little write up. certainly more than happy if he takes over rt and never lets go. for me just seems to be an air about corcoran. this is great entertainment for sure
with so many young OLs starting next year there dont seem to be enough spots for every 4 star kid on the OL. its a good problem to have. a few of these guys are going to be surprised when they thought they were a top recruit and dont get to play in college. the OL is stackedyou’re not wrong about Corcoran. He’s been getting some good reviews via Austin and Lubick. Dude is showing he was deserving of that Top 46 player in the country composite rating he earned. Future is most definitely bright for our Huskers on the Oline.

he seemed to get better and better as the season went on. i'm more of an observer than expert on olinemen though.I don’t remember being impressed with Farniok last year either. Maybe some of that was struggles as Jurgens was figuring things out, IDK
It would be fun to watch these young guys go up against the young DLs like Gunnerson, Hutmacher, Robinson, Newsom and Black everyday for the next 3-4 years.you’re not wrong about Corcoran. Playing soft is not an experience thing by this point of your football career. It is a mentality issue. One that needs to be changed immediately or at 6'9" 300 you need to go play intramural basketball. Can't afford to put soft players on the field.
There will be competition but the best young guys are going to play some early on. With the number of plays and tempo Frost wants to run his offense at, there's going to be reps leading up to when they're the man as juniors or seniors. Frost and Austin haven't been afraid to play young players if they prove it in practice.with so many young OLs starting next year there dont seem to be enough spots for every 4 star kid on the OL. its a good problem to have. a few of these guys are going to be surprised when they thought they were a top recruit and dont get to play in college. the OL is stacked
In 18, I thought the OL was worlds better once Wilson became a starter.
That also coincided with our walk on center getting injured and the move of a senior to center. The center is where it all starts and our struggles there last year killed our O line play IMOIn 18, I thought the OL was worlds better once Wilson became a starter.

We all have to be excited about the depth and potential strength we finally have attained entering SF 3rd season..
Corcoran will start next year. Dude showed out big in his All-American game also.
Guys were just standing there after making contact for a split second. It had nothing to do with getting to the next level, because they weren't even doing that.Well I'm certainly not an expert on Frost's offense, but I think there are some scheme concepts that rely heavily on timing and brush blocks to get to the next level. I'm don't doubt you saw that. I saw plenty of whiffs too at times. I can recall multiple times where Jurgens would make a line call and Farniok would look towards him as if to say WTF. Then the ball would be snapped and things would go south. In Farniok's case, most of his whiffs I saw were when he was just blown away by a much quicker defender. On this interior I saw times where people appeared to think they were going to get help and it never came. The high snaps disrupting timing are just a killer in a timing offense. The QB is focused on the ball instead of where his eyes really need to be as well.Guys were just standing there after making contact for a split second. where does Teddy P end up? Corcoran could be LT for 3 years same with Benhart at RT. somebody is going to be left out. somebodiesCorcoran will start next year. Dude showed out big in his All-American game also.
I would guess RT. A redshirt year, two years as a backup and two years as a starter. This really is how it should work on the OL, even with big time recruits, they usually need time to develop.where does Teddy P end up? Yes, someone will get left out. But unlike QB, there are 5 spots for OL (actually more since backups tend to play more on OL than at QB), so if we're at the point where there are quality OL that have 5 other players better than they are, then that's good for Nebraska.where does Teddy P end up? I think it had a lot more to do with Farmer taking over at Center. In 18, I thought the OL was worlds better once Wilson became a starter.

I'll believe it when I see it. We've heard for the last 5 years about improved depth on the Oline, but it ends up just as bad as ever.Sean Callahan feels good about our Oline and the depth we have for the 2020 season....
The depth on the offensive line is going to be a real strength
I've heard enough people now talk about the offensive line that you get the sense this is going to be one of the real strengths of this football team.
Offensive line cultures are not built overnight. It takes time to recruit and properly develop players to fit your system.
With young names like Bryce Benhart, Cameron Jurgens, Ethan Piper, Turner Corcoran, Brant Banks and Nouri Nouili all working in the wings, this line has a chance to be as deep and talented as NU has had in a while.
The other thing you like is there are so many guys in that second group that can play multiple positions. That versatility is going to be big in 2020.

that guy stunk out loud last year
I can’t argue there. He definitely had a bad year last season. I’d love to see Nouili eventually win out there.
I was going to say it in a nicer way, but yes, it would be a good thing if someone like Piper or Nouili could pass up Wilson.
And we aren’t the only ones:
Why is Wilson starting? Not impressed.
I believe Wilson was also injured most of the year last year as well.
Wilson did a good job in '18. Don't know what happened last year.
Boe Wilson dealt with an ankle and a shoulder injury all last season. He would've benefitted from more depth allowing him to play less.
Wilson is actually a very good run blocker. He graded out well in 2018 in that regard. The injuries lead to an uninspiring 2019 campaign. Greg Austin is on record stating that they needed to protect him more but lacked the depth last season.
Hixon is decent as pass pro, but is not athletic enough or strong enough to push dudes around on the interior in the Big Ten. His movement down the depth chart after 12 starts is indicative of a team that wants more from its running game in 2020.
Wilson does have a Big Ten body and strength. He also has 21 career starts, and is a senior in the year of Covid. Nebraska is lucky to have a dude with that much experience on the roster.
I follow some NFL scouts on Twitter. They were commenting about how many new college offensive linemen are struggling this season. Secondly, they noticed a lot of linemen, who were supposed to "breakout," have deviated backwards in development.
Nebraska will benefit a lot by having a healthy Boe Wilson. And unlike last season, they have some options to fill in behind him, if he needs some rest. Nouili has 8 career D1 starts as well.
