So we have just admitted delaying the season was a giant screw up? I will be curious to see how this is set up. Do we just go longer than everyone else and then get to be part of the Bowls, etc? Or are we on a different schedule, with fewer games? Glad that we might be playing, but so many unanswered questions.

At this point it doesn't really matter, there have been so many dates you might as well throw a dart at multiple calendars.

So there's going to be a vote? This should go well.

Agreed, I don’t care the start up date. Just get it done already and let’s give this a shot. If it doesn’t work, we back it down and stop. At least try like the SEC, ACC, Big 12 and independent schools (some) are.

Hopefully this won't require a vote of any kind. That can get a bit sticky.

We would need 2020 football schedule #3 if we start on October 10th. I would be thrilled if we play, but wonder what kind of schedule we will have.

If they release a schedule, they'll just cancel a few days later anyway.

That's what conferences do that have strong leadership.

You can almost guarantee that they will at least play everyone in the same division so they could have a CCG by December 12 or 19.

May as well. Hell, there are already tens of thousands of students on campus. What's 150 more on each campus?

Sounds like coaches on the committee want the 10th if they keep up, but at the top no one is listening.

Moos just stopped for a sandwich in Philly, too. :D

Wishful thinking, probably, though. :(

If they start in October or even early Nov, that's an admission they miscalculated, because there is basically no difference in the COVID situation now versus August when they decided. When they made the announcement that the Pac12 and Big10 were postponing the season, I don't imagine they expected the remaining P5 conferences to go ahead with the season.
And I haven't actually heard any word about the Pac12. It must suck to be one of the few hardcore football fans of those programs because they're afterthoughts.

Rittenberg “The Big Ten...remains...mess”
Sounds about right
So the only things holding this up are
1) A vote (that always goes well in the BIG!)
2) Medical rapid testing with myocardial screens, should be fine there
3) Great unknown risk/liability that has fubar-ed this whole thing from the start
Sounds about right
I do think there’s some positive traction this week, we’ll see

Haters and losers can’t help that they were born wrong. Sir yacht was right this whole time. This board owes him and myself an Apology and gift cart to Outback Steakhouse

why should college fb players get access to rapid tests and the general population cannot?

why should college fb players get access to rapid tests and the general population cannot?
because they're the backbone of a multi-billion dollar industry and you are not?

also, just go to a free testing site near you and let us know if you're unable to find a test. we'll wait on bated breath.

Because the general population wants to watch some College Football this fall. And I shouldn’t have to tell you the other reasons..

Who cares. I just want to see some football. Oct 10 makes a heck of a lot more sense than Thanksgiving.
