And it spoke of Rutgers in the rise. Real good writer. Here is the deal. Writers love to write controversial stuff about smaller represented groups. They can look tough and opinionated without as much risk. That is why Iowa had so much play on its racist regime. If either of these was Michigan it is a different story.
Can someone explain to me why Nebraska's recent success (or lack thereof) in football has anything at all to do with how the leadership reacted to the B1G's stupidity? Because Nebraska hasn't had much success of late in football, they were just supposed to take the stupid decision lying down, and not express their disappointment? Doesn't really make sense to me. I would point out that all the talk about leaving the conference or whatever over the decision came from fans, not the leadership.
The leadership simply expressed disappointment (rightfully so) and stated their desire to still look at possibilities for playing football this year. Last time I checked, the leadership for the University of Nebraska is and should be concerned, first and foremost, with the University of Nebraska, and it's student athletes and coaches, as well as the impact to the community supporting the University; their job isn't to salve the egos of the idiots running the conference and making the decisions, and to publicly support stupid decisions.

I understand someone like Ohio State speaking up would be a bigger deal, but again, just because Nebraska hasn't had much success recently doesn't mean they forfeit their right to express their opinion. I didn't see what Nebraska did as "talking tough" like they were trying to go for some big showndown with the conference. They expressed their disappointment and stated they were going to look into playing some games outside of the conference. Obviously that's too threatening to the geniuses that run the conference, and Nebraska doesn't have the cache to go their own way right now, so they decided against it. Doesn't mean they shouldn't have spoken up in the first place.
To me it is ludicrous for critics trying to criticize anybody for their desire to play football. Those critics just look plain foolish.

Here pre-expansion Forde says adding Nebraska is the best expansion option. "Fans everywhere will tune in to watch Nebraska play Michigan and Ohio State."
