I still don't see how the football season will make it that long. Too many people in close proximity.

Why can’t they expand rosters to sub in for quarantined players as long as staff isn’t infected?

at that point you’d be looking at a larger payroll in a time where the only source of income is coming from TV revenue and merch sales... the owners would never sign up to put more players in payroll when they are already looking at very bleak profits this year

They did. Rosters were expanded from 25 to 30, with an additional 30 players in sort of a training camp that can be called up to the big leagues. Problem is over half of the Marlins roster has tested positive, kind of tough to replace that many guys.

not only payroll this year but big future financial implications for calling up minor league players with regards to service time management rules. They reach a potential big payday a year earlier than they otherwise would. It is why many future stars that could easily make the opening day roster or even the starting lineup start out the season in the minors and get called up later in the year - Kris Bryant of the Cubs was a perfect example

PAC has scheduled big rivalry games for the first game. That certainly shows a lot of confidence in playing a full season, doesn’t it? I know no one is thrilled with Spring option but the other option seems like it will be Fall 2021.

I'm leaning more towards Fall 2021. We shall see if we can play any meaningful games before this whole experiment collapses.

Don't they realize that after the week incubation period everything is good to go? But then again, this goes against the narrative. Once the players get this they are good for life. Stop the fear mongering. This will be with us forever and ever, kinda like the common cold and the flu....

Give them all HCQ, if they want it, and monitor to see if the illness progresses, if not, play ball. Pretty sure they've all played with illnesses before.

How do you know this? There was limited preliminary evidence presented just a few of weeks ago that exposure may not confer long term immunity. If you could cite a scientific source for your claim I would be interested in reading about it.

to date THERE HAVE BEEN NO LONG TERM SURVIVORS OF COVID

unclear what, if any long term effects may be present in survivors

significant myocardial involvement at median of 71 days after recovery - most patients had just mild respiratory symptoms (not sick enough to get hospitalized) - 78% of "recovered" patients had evidence of myocardial involvement

"The discoveries highlighted in this issue of JAMA Cardiology by Puntmann and colleagues5 are also informative. In 100 recovering patients included in the study, 67% of whom recovered at home, evaluated a mean of 71 days after confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis, 78% had demonstrable cardiac involvement via cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, 76% had detectable high-sensitivity troponin, and 60% had evidence of active myocardial inflammation by abnormal native T1 and T2."

Is this what the the future is like when we eschew all common sense?

It'll be 2030 and people who got covid in 2020 will die and you'll be here to say "see told you so"

Nevermind that THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE HAVE COMORBIDITIES!!!!!!!!!

Please move for your own good. Your surroundings are rotting your brain.

LOL. Never in my wildest dreams could I have anticipated that one day it would come to pass that the President of the United States of America would publically champion a doctor who warns of the dangers of having sex with demon spirits. We're all just a part of a Monty Python sketch now.

Then just plan on everyone dying. We are either going to get it naturally or through vaccination.

Nice knowing ya'll. Picking out my headstone tomorrow.

Someday when the human race has been forced to go underground because of covid, we can look back on videos like this and be reminded of a time that football was safe for the players.

There is ZERO PROOF that one has lifetime immunity after having C19.

Considering that there are people that survive C19 with permanent brain, lung, or heart damage, it isn't a stretch to say that it will cause premature deaths 10 years from now.

"Nevermind that THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE HAVE COMORBIDITIES!!!!!!!!!"

I know. That's why I'm getting sick of people saying that all of those folks that have died were already half dead. I'm pretty sure that the 1,000+ health care workers that have died weren't already half dead.

Ok I have to ask... how do we know the damage is permanent?

Just like we don’t know if there is permanent immunity, you can’t tell me the damage is permanent and there is no hope for healing.
