I saw a casino posted week one lines (not like many of those games will actually be played).

They list Nebraska -4 vs Purdue. That sounds about right. Should be a high scoring game as Purdue should have Rondale Moore back at 100% and I think Nebraska will also have all weapons and another year in the system.

Other lines of note:
Stanford -6.5 vs Northwestern
Auburn -4 vs Oregon

This will definitely be a high scoring game. And I have no clue about R. Moore....some of those hamstring injuries can linger and his was obviously a rough one.

My little take....Purdue will be installing a brand new 3-4 defense and with this coronavirus stuff going on, they will have very little time to work on it before our game. I like our chances here. Their defense will be thinking more then they are playing. Our offense SHOULD be able to take advantage of that. Then I think our defense in year 3 with a solid, experienced secondary will be the difference here, the “X” factory if you will...that’s all I got. I won’t predict the score but I’ll take our Huskers with a close win...GBR

I like Auburn -4 more personally. I need to see Frosty achieve some success here before I'd bet anything on cobering a spread.

I think Rondale Moore will be fine. David Bell will be great as well.

The X factor should be Nebraska's ability to run the ball vs. Diaco's defense. The Boilers are limited at inside linebacker, and Handsome Bob's last 20 games as a DC vs. top 55 rushing attacks is dreadful.

Is this from last year? I don't see where Oregon is playing Auburn this fall. Just checked. Stanford is not playing Northwestern this fall as well.

completely agree with that. Our Oline and with A Martinez (or Luke McCaffrey) and D Mills should be able to run on that defense all game long.

Not just Mills either. I think they will incorporate at least 2 other backs into the run game, even in week one.

This is what I'm interested in seeing. Can Purdue stop the run and will they play a 3-4 or a 4-3. Everything has indicated they will play a 3-4, which is fine as Purdue has the dudes to play it. Dline should be the strength of the defense with two day 1-2 draft pick type players and a senior DT. Barnes is being moved back to ILB, but outside of him, it is super thin at LB like you mentioned. Personally, I'm more worried about getting beat through the air.

I know it isn't a ton of time still, but Purdue will get more time to learn and install the defense than a normal year since they got 8 spring practices in. I like most here it seems expects a high scoring, but close game. Ready for the season!

I think this whole thread is based on old information. If Stanford is not playing Northwestern and Auburn is not playing Oregon how do I know the spread is Nebraska -4 vs Purdue?

They actually have an extraordinary amount of time to install a new system with little voluntary workouts, film will be watched and testing done. Can't remember new coaches name there. I wonder how he has handled Frosts offense in the past, or in general how good his def has been.?

You really can’t remember who Purdue’s new DC is?

Assuming this game is still the season opener it's the easiest game on the schedule. Gotta win this one.
