Absolutely. In the face of tremendous institutional racism at the University of Iowa, he persevered and helped effect change in trying times. I salute the young man and wish him all the best. I hope the perpetrators inside the football program and athletic department at the University of Iowa are held accountable forthwith.
Usually I would agree with merging threads, but with a civil rights situation as deep and entrenched as this, I believe the young man is entitled to his own thread. Certainly deserving of recognition for speaking out against a regime that may or may not have ties to hate groups.
Any lawyers on board that know if a class action lawsuit against the University of Iowa athletic department is plausible?
So why did it take 3 years after he graduated for him to bring these grievances, however true or justified, to the forefront?
So if George Floyd isn't killed, then he was ok living with what happened to him at Iowa?
I would be interested to know if he made any trips back to Iowa City the last 3 years, or if he was on the sidelines for any of the bowl games etc.
He was ok with the guy being racist and talking ****** to all the African American players on the team for the next number of years?

Well, that's nice and all that you think that way. I suppose those arguments will be visited by the NCAA while they perform their investigation into the systemic racism at the University of Iowa (anyone remember if the investigators asked those little kids at Penn State if they kept going to the football games?). I hope they do not come down too hard on the Hawkeyes. Lack of institutional control is not something I would like to see because it will give the Hawks an excuse when we start dropping 60 and 70-baggers on them.
I do believe we may see a Department of Justice investigation into the severe institutional racism at the University of Iowa as well, perhaps with federal hate crime enhancement penalties tacked on to any civil rights violations the Hawkeyes may have committed.
Quite a difference between a minor child and an adult college student athlete.

No. What I mean is when things happen it's easier for others to vent and share their experience. There's more of a forum but also you can get it off your shoulders and fly a little under the radar if you don't want full focus attention. Timing timing timing.
Its an easy answer.. just like the me too movement.. its just easier to come out and say these things now because of the current dissaray of our country.. He knows more people will be on his side now because of George .. he has more courage to say something when you dont feel so much in the minority.. at least publicly for him id imagine.. no matter when it comes out if it was the case it shouldnt have happened.. Again i dont know Doyle or him.. dont know if thats just the way he'd joke a round with the boys or if it was true targeted racism.. this is why we should use our tongues and words to build people up not tear people down.. and I am one of the most sarcastic persons i know so that is hard to say..just my .02
As a black man, I can tell you this boy wouldn't be saying anything if Mr Floyd was killed by anyone else other than a white man. His older brother played for Iowa too, do he would have known about all this beforehand...
Two years ago, Daniels announced that he would declare early for the NFL draft:

Who writes that as a 21-yr old? I sure would not have. I would have wrote “it was cool here and the people were fun and we played some good games and my girlfriend that I met here is awesome”
You should go through bootcamp. I saw some **** talking. That's about it. The coaches are too mean!
