Yeah I agree, and I hope it is a quick trigger. We need to win now and I'm willing to give AM 1 more shot, but if he looks crappy again, put in the kid that can breathe a little life into the team. You can tell he's a winner and the energy level came up in the games he came in last year.
Yup. That kid is going to be our starter and get us really ramped up. I think Smothers is going to be great, too. Not sure about Haarberg yet, but by then we'll have more QB recruits anyway. Not worried about the position, AM worried about the class; we need to pick up some 4 stars like, NOW.
We desperately need the preseason practices so that SF can know if Luke should start instead. Really don't want to go past game 1 with a troubled AM.
Yeah, I think Smother's could be the answer, but man when McCaffrey gets on the field you just feel the kids energy. He wants to be out there so bad and looks pretty smooth playing the game. Small sample size, but for me I just like his (what the kids call) swag.
I was VERY critical of AM's performance last fall and that there had to be something wrong with him. The flip side for me is AM had better be working as hard if not harder than McCaffrey or it's going to be a mute point. Hopefully he didn't get a false sense of security last fall that even injured and limited he was"the guy".
The cream always rises to the top. It'll show who's ready and who's not. Some have suggested moving McCaffrey to wr to get him on the field. That could change things at QB if that really is what's best overall for the team going forward

That's going to happen regardless of when or how the season starts. No college football coach in America wants his team to play games after two weeks of practice.
In fact, you're going to see coaches asking for the few total of Spring and Fall practices added together.
