Fleck is FaceTiming him as we speak (probably).

I hear PJ Fleck is rowing down I-29 South as we speak.

This Gopher run won’t last long...I’m calling it now. Either Fleck will get pulled out by a big time school or he will start hitting the 7-6 to 8-5 average that they done for 30 plus years now (actually I’m thinking it’s 40-50 years).

Before PJ and Kill (and Mason) they were on a stretch of 4-5 wins a year for 30 years...

ouch...yeah I gave them to much credit there. And man J Kill built a good team for Minnesota. The Gophers fans don’t give that man enough or any credit. Kill started the Minnesota rebuild and Fleck finished it off. Now let’s see if he can keep them playing at that level. I honestly don’t see it happening. But who really knows...

LOL I'm sure you'd love us Gophers bring Jerry Kill back. This is true. But everything else you say about Fleck is delusional. He"s not getting hired away from us. Zero chance.

You know this... how? Let me guess... you knew Bob Stoops was retiring 3 years ago, Chis Peterson stepping down from Washington, Brohm wasn’t gonna leave Purdue...

You knew Kill was stepping down before he did, and on and on...

delusional you say? I’d say you claiming no one will hire Fleck away is delusional at its finest. You guys are worst then us Husker fans thinking your school is something special. You haven’t done a thing in 40-50 years. And like some pointed out, before Kill, Minnesota was consistently going 4-6 wins a season. Actually, you Minnesota fans sound just like the UCF fans...and you remember how that played out, huh?!?! Yep, their coach got stolen from them too.

And no offense, all credit given to Fleck, but he did go 5-7, and then 6-6 his first two regular seasons...that’s only 1 game difference per season then Scott Frost. Now he did go 11-2 with an absolute cream puff schedule, again I’ll give him that. But 1 good season out of back to back below average to bad seasons doesn’t make him a lock for automatic 9-11 win seasons from here on out. I’m not sold yet on Fleck just yet, let’s see how year 4 goes first. ;)

They were consistently winning 8 a year when PJ got to town. Their fans were ready to row him out of town after the first two seasons and some close calls early in year 3.

yeah year one Fleck and Minnesota finished that season with back to back loses for a combined total of 0-70. Fleck was kind of on a hot seat till that magical year 3 saved his ***.

But yes, Claeys and Kill had them going 8 wins twice and a 9 win season. But outside that...it was 4-7 wins per season for years there

Kill/Claeys stinks. You mention creampuff schedules...they never beat anybody good. Fleck beat 8-0 #4 Penn State, and he beat Auburn. He started to show signs of life at the end of the previous year, beating some good teams soundly.

Fleck already makes $4.6M. There's only 8 coaches making above $5M. And only Swinney and Saban make above $7.5M. I'm positive Minnesota would go to $7.5M. So why would Fleck leave?? His ties are to the midwest. But he has no dream school. He can win and recruit here. Why would he leave??

Have you ever heard the phrase "get out while the getting is good?"

Why don’t you go to your own board where someone might buy this nonsense. Or at least where they might care.

I hope Fleck stays forever. It's fun having a goofball in the conference. I'm not going to let momentary jealousy over one good season delude me into hoping that he leaves so they "come back" to us. Let's set our sights a little higher and believe we can compete just fine with the Gophs. And also, let's be real... Fleck ain't staying at Minny forever because the money's good. The instant he has the opportunity to get a powerhouse job - he gone. Utter nonsense to think otherwise.

I just hope it's not Nebraska.

he coaches at Minnesota, right now...

I can sling mud too if that's where you wanna go. I mean I don't blame you for being annoyed by sheet-talking delusional Iowa fans and others. But this is me, TheWayITellEm. I don't talk crap. I only defend Fleck & Minnesota against outrageous unfounded attacks.

That’s admirable, but keep in mind where you are as well, and don’t take it personally. If Nebraska fans on a Nebraska board think Fleck is a little off, Why do you feel compelled to set us straight? If Nebraska fans on a Nebraska board think he won’t stay at Minnesota, why do you feel compelled to tell us we are dead wrong?

But what is outrageous and unfounded in this thread? That husker fans think he won’t stay in Minnesota? I appreciate the reasons you give as to why he will stay, and they certainly don’t hurt, but to say there is zero chance he goes anywhere else is a bit outrageous and unfounded, if you ask me.
