Stimulus checks?

Yep. Wife works at a bank. Got ours. Checked last night, not there. Checked at work this morning, good to go.
Lots of people getting them don’t need them. It is a terrible idea. Debt was out of control before, now not sure how the hell US ever can get out from underneath this.
Can we not turn this into yet another political pissing match?? Just asked if anyone got checks. Thanks
Well, it was pretty much bipartisan as far as I can tell, so I'm not blaming any one party or person, they all blew it on this.
can you imagine what this will be like if we have to go another 18 months with no football? Yikes!
I don't really see a difference. We haven't had a lot to be thrilled about during football season and those threads usually result in a huge pissing / *****-fest too, so just more of the same, but with a different subject.
Just logged in and there it was. I'm furloughed from work right now so this helps. I could see the new balance, but the bank is not showing individual payments (or debits).
I'm about to take off for East Texas for a couple of days. I will be staying in a private cabin in the woods... with INTERNET! We will see how good their internet is in rural Texas. LOL. This may be the last you hear from me until Friday!

Got ours today. We are fortunate that we don’t need it now. A lot of people need this now and will need more later. In order to get it to the people who need it, people that don’t need it will have to endure an extra $1200 in their pocket.
Although I agree with you on the national debt, I'm curious on how you know if people need them.
I don't have direct deposit set up through IRS because I never get a refund..... I will be waiting for the next month to get a paper check I guess.... I am still working, but three others I live with are not and a check will absolutely make a difference, regardless of what side of the aisle you dig your heels into.
He is right you know.. Not everyone lives paycheck to paycheck and have invested and have money of their own to spend..
I recall this conversation several weeks ago. Either you accept the fact that some people that don’t need the money (or don’t deserve) will get it; or you give everybody nothing.
Not disputing that. That fails to understand why they did this, though. And why they will likely have to do it multiple times.
Another words you have to be a tax paying citizen to receive it or you deserve nothing...
They did it so people will completely ignore the big-time corporate bailout for those major corporations that cashed out $2 trillion dollars in stock buybacks in the last 3 years alone and now suddenly need trillions more. Looks like it worked well.
I didn't need it because both my wife and I are still working so mine is going into our rainy day/emergency fund. I like the security of 3-6 months and this will just add to that. It's not what they intended though when they gave it out to boost the economy.
Got mine...promptly called my dealer and then sum chick who goes by the name Destiny, but I have my doubts that's her real name cause she never lets me pick her up at her place and she still uses a beeper.
The cut-off is pretty ridiculous. If you want to have money come back into the economy, 199K shouldn't have been the cut-off for couples. My family doesn't need the money, so it is probably fine that we didn't get one, but on the other hand I would have spent basically all of it at local business or doing nice things for my kids daycare or others. If you want my true opinion all tax payers should have received and there shouldn't have been a cut-off.
Stock buy backs have been barred through the bill.
But do you want thousands of people laid off from their jobs to care about some damn CEO making money?
Got it, paid off my smartphone to lower my monthly bill, still have about $900 to blow. I've saved enough to live roughly 2 years without a job so f*** it, I'll pump that $1200 straight back up the economy's poop chute Smokin

Because people that don’t need it are getting it is probably one of the reasons this stimulus hasn’t been the lightening rod trigger it might have otherwise been. The thing that really triggers is the underprivileged getting something for nothing. Since we’re all getting something for nothing here, it’s more palatable.
