This young man pulled the trigger and is now a Husker. He was given 4 1/2 stars Kohl’s kicking association, which isn’t bad at all. One way or another, we will end up having a solid kicker and punter for the future. GBR

He’s not quite the kicker our other guy is though. Tyler Crawford is a 5 star Kicker

“Crawford had an impressive showing at the 2019 Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp. He once again had a very impressive overall camp with all three disciplines. Crawford has the tools to play at the Division 1 level and this fall will be key for him to continue to progress and be ready to compete at the next level. Crawford attended Texas Showcase in the spring of 2019 and showed great athletic improvement since his last camp. He was able to hit Division 1 type kick offs in the charting session. Crawford also made an impressive 12 points during the field goal portion of camp. He has matured athletically since last summer and moved into the 5 star category as a kicker. His charts were some of the best in the country and might have the talent to be a top 15 kicker in the country.”

Here’s his read out on Kohl’s Kicking. And I didn’t realize this but we got 3 kickers coming in. 2 of them are 4 1/2 star kickers and both Top 100 kickers and we got Crawford the lone 5 star Kicker and predicted to be a Top 15 kicker or better.



“Novosel recently attended the Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp in July of 2019. He showed some very impressive leg strength during the kickoff charting phases of camp. Novosel attended the 2019 Kohls Future Stars Event at IMG Academy. He had some very impressive kick off's at camp and with continued work over the off-season on a more repeatable motion he will move up in the Kohl's rankings. Novosel had a solid day competing at the 2018 Midwest Winter Showcase. He charted 7 points in the field goal portion and was able to score a big ball of 58 yards with 3.58 seconds. Ball striking was above average during the drill work portion of camp and he was able to generate excellent lift on several of his field goals. Increasing the command of his contact on kickoffs should help him be able to drive the ball down field on kickoffs.”

Here’s our other guy Sami Khawja from Cal. Appears to be more of a punter then kicker. We definitely have the help coming for special teams.

“Khawja had a strong showing at the 2020 Senior Challenge. He made the finals in the punt competition in January of 2020. Khawja is well trained since he played his senior season at IMG. Khawja can punt in college and has the work ethic and dedication needed to be successful. He has shown well at multiple Kohl's events and has a consistency that is better than other punters his age.”

It's a good thing we now have a dedicated person who isn't coaching another position to have the time to be able to evaluate all these kicking candidates. After the kicking competition resolves itself we'll see a lot of team departures. May the best man win.

Yes sir, we have our punter for years to come and we have a couple Big time prospects that will battle it out for our Field Goal kicker for years to come. Heck, the other one may very well handle the kick offs and the other FGs? My guess Crawford will be our FG kicker. They say he has the potential to be one of the Best FG kickers in the country.

Hard to keep all these big time kicking prospects straight. Am I reading this correctly in that none of them were offered scholarships by any D1 school?

I have had you on ignore for months now because all you do is troll and I see you’re still at it. Kickers and punters rarely get offers from Power 5 teams, some do but not often. Even the number 1 ranked Kicker in the country only has 2 power 5 offers.

And Crawford (our 5 star Kicker) is considered to be a Top 15 kicker prospect and our new walk on kicker (a 4 1/2 star ranked kicker) has potential himself...so yeah, naturally I call them (2, not exactly hard to keep that straight) A couple big time prospects because they are. Crawford is for sure but maybe calling Ryan Novosel was bit of a stretch. But he has potential too.

Now If you disagree or have a different view then that’s on you and your choice. And Crawford actually did have a few power 5 offers, one for sure, Oklahoma State to be exact and he still decided to walk on for us. Now if you’d be so kind, go find someone else to troll and stalk.
