Those shoes are ugly as sin though. This reminds me of back when Barry Bonds was roided to the gills and destroying every pitching staff for a few seasons. He additionally wore a giant piece of armor on his arm to negate the effects of getting hit by pitches since he practically stood on the plate. I read some expert theorized that he may additionally have had a mechanical advantage installed into that giant piece of armor thereby giving him even more bat speed.
