I've accidentally hit the column heading before and sorted by date of the first post rather than most recent post overall.

They aren’t old threads, it just so happens that the same subjects are rehashed over, and over, and over, and over, so I understand how it could seem like you’re seeing very old threads

In the black tool bar at the top of thread listings...on the right side...click “last message” and it fixes it! Mine was doing that also. I had threads from 2016 showing.
