Eteva Mauga juco ILB from diablo valley cc..and Nico Cooper juco OLB from hutch now have visits scheduled. Neither have impressive rating or offers but they are in positions of need. Speed and athleticism at ILB seems to be a real focus.

On the JD front..there seems to be a lot of smoke regarding him transferring or going pro. I’m not that bothered if we can finish the WR class strong. Manning and Fleming would be awesome to add with betts. Either Robinson would be great and we have legit early playing time to add. Add in Chase and you will hopefully see 3-5 wr who are 6’2-‘3 Really like the rb Marks (4 star miss st commit) who has some versatility as a duck/rb.

This must be what Walters has been up to the past few days. He didn’t visit smothers or Morrison..he must be focused on grabbing more wrs! This kids recruitment is heating up according to rivals. He has visited MSU and Indiana so far.

Going to be an interesting few weeks assuming everyone actually signs on signing day and doesn't wait :p I'm very interested in how Betts and Manning turn out and hoping both land. We need some size on the outside and better vertical threats.

Bring in some mother truckers that want to play and we will be fine. No excuses next year. He will now have had 3 recruiting classes that are far better than what he had at UCF (okay, I just guessed there).

Get them here. We need LBs and WRs that are ready to be thrown into the mix. Easy sell!

We need some mother truckers who don't coach "little" football … i.e. the WR swing pass.

Is this a joke...the option offense of the 90s had a ton of swing passes...mainly because we couldn't complete passes downfield...maybe that was the reason on Saturday.

No joke. It has been well documented on this board by numerous posters the ineffectiveness of this play.

We will get there or we won’t. Let’s get some good WRs who want to catch the middle post

Let's get a coach who is ok with some extra pass blocking help. Defenses do send six or seven you know.

I wouldn't say "a ton" of swing passes, but they did run that play and probably a bubble screen or two. But nothing near the frequency of Frost's offense. I'm not sure anyone throws the ball sideways or backwards with the frequency of Frost.

If anyone would have the time to look up the last 10-12 juco WR recruits. Mike Williams was a bust and I bet five on that list played less than Williams.
Only 5 I could find since 2002 other than Williams...

2017 (class) - Dominic Watt - Never made it
2010 - S. Jean Baptiste - Switched to corner
2009 - Brandon Kinnie - Solid contributor
2006 - Maurice Purify - Balled out
2005 - Frantz Hardy - Contributed

Edit: Not sure if you were talking Juco WR overall or just those who ended up playing for Nebraska.

I was talking about guys who were signed to play WR out of juco. Here's a few more.
2018- Mike Williams, Jaron Woodyard
2004- Marque McCray, Shamus McCoy
2001- Cliff Brye
1999- Larry Henderson
So going back 20 years, we got maybe one great WR out of that list and a great CB. Brandon Kinnie was a good player. Frantz Hardy was OK. Beyond that, not much.

I went back a few more years, but couldn't find any WR/WB recruits from the juco ranks. Back then, Nebraska didn't recruit many jucos because, to quote Jack Pierce, "we don't have to."
