towards more of a Frost recruited roster. Let's keep it real, the seniors didn't become winners while they played here and not many of them panned out. Out of that group, it's likely that only 1 player makes it to the NFL as a drafted player - Lamar Jackson. Daniels will likely get a shot at the NFL but I don't know if he will get drafted or not but he was a grad transfer.

The talent starts to improve when you get to the juniors (next year seniors) and then go to the younger classes. For junior starters that should be returning

WR: Spielman

RB: Mills

LT: James
RG: Wilson
RT: Farniok

TE: Stoll

We should have about 6 or 7 starters on O next year that were recruited by Frost.

On D for returning juniors (next year seniors):

ILB: Miller
OLB: JOJO
S: Dismuke
CB: Bootle

What I think happens on O next year is the following:

WR: New recruit
WR: Wandale Robinson
WR: Spielman

LT: James
LG: Piper
C: Jurgens
RG: Farniok
RT: Benhart

TE: Stoll

QB: Martinez

RB: Mills/Rahmir

On D I think the following happens:

NG: Ty Robinson
DE: JUCO recruit if we land one
DE: Stille

NB: JoJo
ILB: Miller
ILB: JUCO if we land one or one of our redshirting freshman
OLB: Nelson

CB: Clark
CB: Bootle
S: Cam
S: Dismuke

I bet about 7 starters on D will have been recruited by Frost.

Next year is when you will be able to see how the development is taking place for Frost recruits. That is what will tell us the future better than anything else when you look at things at the end of the 2020 season.

The 2020 season is the first season under Frost that I am actually looking forward to. I have been waiting out these Riley classes and waiting for the young to grow and mature.

As long as Spielman is back, we don't lose anyone on O that makes any difference. We just need the size and deep threat and improved RB depth.

On D we graduate our leading tackler but he isn't an all-conference player so that is replaceable.

yes it will. Well at least against Iowa it will for sure. They will lose Nate Stanley, AJ Epenesa (to draft, no way he risks an injury on coming back and wasting a top draft pick possibility), starting FB, starting TE, possibly both O Tackles (to NFL Draft or at least one), starting Guard, both starting DTs, starting MLB and their best CB. Those guys make Iowa what they are right now and they will miss them dearly next season. Man if AJ Epenesa and both O Tackles leave early (they will lose AJ and T Wirfs for sure) Iowa is going to be in a world of hurt next year...ouch.

Without AJ on defense this season, Iowa loses against the Huskers. AJs monster game won Iowa the game. Without him, Iowa is in trouble and don’t make as many stops as they did against the Husker offense. The Huskers would have easily scored another time or two without AJ Epenesa making 14 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks in the Husker game....believe that.

Iowa will be what Iowa always is, a 7-9 win club.

Isn’t it amazing that Iowa has that much NFL talent, when it supposedly has such inferior recruiting classes? My guess is they will find a way to replace the players they lose this year. Their program is functioning at that level right now. In order for us to beat them next year, WE have to get better.

Does Honas graduate? He made a couple of nice plays today. Couldn’t see if he blundered on the long runs because I was watching on my phone
It might have been his man that caught the last pass before winning FG. That said it also could be he found the hole in soft zone
