Frost needs to lure a top ten class at least every 3-4 years, then top 20 to fill the rest. The same teams that are on tv now were on tv 10-15 years ago. We watched a decade ago Nebraska against a NC contender in the Big 12 title game and the Huskers almost beat Texas.

If they slug around top 25 or below every year going forward, then nothing will change and eventually the next coach will be hired, Frost has 5 more years on his contract to turn Nebraska into a team that will compete and beat the best of the B1G. If not, his time will expire in Lincoln, hope he can get it done.
IF we can get to the teens with our recruiting classes we'll be doing well. IF we can put together a top 10 season maybe we can land a top 10 class but right now that's just dreaming. We need to consistently keep it in the top 20 recruiting wise then get the most out of them. I think we can do that. I'm very optimistic about this last class and we've got some very good looking prospects committed for this class.

Some will disappear and move to a different team that is a struggle phase and troll their message boards. Some will act like they never had any doubts even though their posting history would show the opposite. Some will dissapear for a while and come back later.

I love following the details of a rebuild. It makes one really appreciate the end result of the climb and how special it is to live through it and can speak intelligently about it.

In 20 years there will be people asking how Frost turned Nebraska football around after the dumb percentage of the fanbase wanted to run him out of town after 20 games. The fanbase did not learn their lesson with Tom Osborne, Solich or Bo.

Solich sucked. Bo sucked.

Yes this season sucks and shouldn't have been like this. I trust Frost will get this fixed. We are a very young team. All this negativity is bringing me down.

its ridiculous isn’t it? I mean I have never seen it this bad since we had Bill Callahan here and even then it wasn’t this bad.

I'm really not worried. I believe Frost will get us there by year 5. However, I may be a nervous wreck by then. With Callahan, I always had hope.

A couple lineman, a LB, a RB or two, a QB, maybe another WR

A linebacker would be Reimers? A lineman would be Bando and a freshman? A RB would be Rahmir? Vedral and McCaffrey for QB ?

Our wide receivers are busts. Vedral and McCaffrey are injured. I don't understand the running back rotation, but I don't watch practice. We have some stud lineman coming in, and Benhart should see some serious playing time, but again, I don't watch practice and we need to win games.

Hypothetical questions: Would Nebraska's coaches be a lot better if they had Ohio State's two deep roster? And how much better would they be?

Frost and his staff will have to work tirelessly to get to that level, can they get close to bringing in that kind of depth of talent? The next three years are going to be interesting to say the least.
Interesting indeed. We now have a losing culture entrenched in the team. This will be the 4th losing season in the last 5. The problem going forward is - how do you recruit better players to turn it around? Frost's image as an upcoming coach is now tarnished, he's clearly not one of the better coaches in the B1G, and they struggle with roster management, in-game adjustments, successful schemes - heck, even the S & C is questionable. Add to all this, the pressure to show improvement is growing by leaps and bounds. Next yr's schedule is brutal, nearly impossible to have a winning record, and the snowball keeps getting larger. By yr 4 of the SF project, it may be too late for him to turn it around enough for most Husker fans. One last thing - is the horrible start to last yr was so sad. If we win just a couple of the close games, this story would be much different. They could have sold us on the improvement, and fans and recruits would have bought in.

Heck, if Nebraska somehow pulls out wins against cu, Indiana, and Purdue this year, games in which they clearly had a shot to win, then things would be a lot better. Frost and the boys better turn those close games next year into wins or the wolves will be howling regardless of his contract status.

Ohio State has basically the same team they did last year. At this point Ryan Day seems to be a better in season and in game coach than Urban Meyer, but it remains to be seen how long he can field elite teams year in and year out like Urban Meyer.

I think (actually I guarantee it) Frost would kill it with OSUs roster. No doubt in my mind. Give Frost a roster full off top 100 players and we’d be undefeated too.

I thought the title of the thread suggested a reference to the football team including coaches, which truly is a dumpster fire. But instead it is another critique of the fans on this board. Similar critiques of the fans have been appearing here since about 2002.

In case the past 17 years hasn’t proven anything else, it is angry fans on this board are not the problem. Hint: Bad coaching and give a crap player attitudes might have a bit more to do with this pathetic football program that is reduced to bragging about stadium sellouts ... to watch the Huskers get blown out.

Well my man, he wasn’t talking about the football team, he was taking about how bad we are on this board. Is the team a dumpster fire? Well I guess they might be, but it’s no where near the dumpster fire Mike Riley had us in. Frost is still trying to put that fire out to this day. It’s not going to change till next year or a couple years from now. Sorry, I’m 100% behind Frost and this rebuild and I truly believe he will get us there again. He needs time to fix Riley absolute train wreck and roster mismanagement he had us in. I do not think Frost is a bad Head Coach and I don’t think we will be an ultimate failure. Right now things look rough but those issue will get fixed in time.GBR

ohio state has played NOBODY so far and was 7-0 at this time last year, too

what a difference a year makes in juvenile minds

we'll see if they go undefeated. that's the only way Day one-ups Urban, who, while being a completely hateable scumbag, won a title with a 3rd string QB in his time at ohio.

they have won dick to date even though they donkey-punched us into outer space.

We need to win games, that’s the point.

I think fields is better than Haskins. He has the ability with his feet. When Urban was really good, he had a true dual threat. I think what OSU was missing was a legit runner at QB.

People *****. When we go 14-1 we will be bitching. I will always root for the Huskers. I will never be apathetic. I love Husker football, but I will question and ***** because I love it so.

When this board is quiet is when Husker football is dead. Take the comments individually and threads individually. People are passionate and naturally pissed. It will get better.

Lol! The last thing on the planet this place is......quiet. Laughing So we're 10,000 country miles away from NU cfb dying anytime soon.
