Go back in time a decade. NU was in a better state and place in the Big 12. The current Big 10 was a step down, particularly Ohio St. The conference lacked the visibility it gained by adding NU. Yes Texas was a PITA but NU benefited from playing 10 games a year in its natural recruiting base. NU has always been the oddball playing in the BIg 10. We don't get recruits out of Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc. We get them out of Kansas, Coorado, Missouri, and Texas.

Iowa is currently on a 5 game winning streak against Clown U. Which admittedly is nothing to brag about. Also, Iowa is 12-8 against Iowa State since 1999. Bad, but a far cry from splitting over the past 20 years. (Yes, we all know facts are not the strong suit of Iowa State fans.)
Oh, and yes, we also know Iowa State has never lost a football game. They've either beaten themselves or gotten screwed by the refs. It must suck to have the refs always against you. Poor babies.
