I set a goal to not turn on my heat until November. I told my brother to suck it up. Granted he wore a hoodie. My Cat was the toughest sleeping without a blanket. Lol. A good life lesson Frost taught me. I survived.

There are people in the world who swear that taking a cold shower every day gives you some kind of edge in life over all the warm shower people. I personally am ok with never having that edge.

My Fraternity sleeping quarters at Bradley University, Peoria, IL. Had a large 4'x6' window, which was broken and NOT REPLACED, throughout the winter.

You'd be surprised how creative you can be to stay warm.

I actually grew to enjoy the cold nights, under all them warm blankets and 3-4 layers of clothing.

Funny thing is, Frost was wearing a hoodie in Minnesota ! Guess he doesn’t practice what he preaches.

He's not playing football. The players do. He doesn't need to be tough physically. The players do.

Its their time to man up. He already manned up in his time. The fans booed him for not being Tommie, he went on to better himself and the team in response....like a Champion! He didn't wilt in self pity, or butthurt. Or complain about a false double standard.

I think its time to flush the pansies out of the system.

One of the first posts by a "Gold Shield" actually worth $10. Tell Rivals to send your November bill to me. Happy Anniversary, OP.

The "Back in the 90s..." stuff doesn't really resonate with players and recruits today. It's a different generation. It's like your grandpa saying he walked 10 miles to school uphill both ways. There were Minnesota players in hoodies before the game and they still kicked our ***.

Frost is getting clowned all over social media for this, and that won't help recruiting.

How is that a relevant response to what I posted?

You should have stated the obvious in that a leader should always display what they are teaching.

But in response what I would tell you is that any commander in the field is not held to the exact same requirements as the regular troops. If you have heavy gunner you expect them to be geared out accordingly, and not complain that the 2 star general has a gear set up that you would like to wear and its completely unfair or bleat on and on about hypocrisy.....YOU DO THE DAMN JOB YOU'RE SET UP TO DO.

However, I would agree with you in that an exact example on Frost's part would be much more effective in this particular situation.

Again though, if the players especially, or the fans, are more butthurt over the circumstances of that presser than the play on the field then they should seriously reevaluate what it is they are playing for or watching for. Because a hoodie on the coach is a lame focal point considering the team looks like rent a cops out there as opposed to blackwater operators.

To take a quote from coach Hawkins: ITS DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL, THIS ISN'T INTRAMURALS,... GO PLAY INTRAMURALS BROTHA!"

Man the he'll up and tunnel vision your craft. Prepare for life after football in your free time, but if know you're giving a lighthearted effort, then get the heck out of the way of someone who might care more to focus on the wheel they are putting their hand to.

That was in reference to you calling a bunch of D1 football players pansies as someone that likely didn't play football after junior high....from behind a keyboard, no less.

I don't care if you're referring to the players on the worst NAIA team in America....no one that didn't play the sport on any competitive level should be calling any college player a pansy.

And...as someone pointed out.....Minnesota's players wore hoodies, and still kicked butt against Nebraska.

Lastly, football isn't war. War is life and death. College football is a game....the outcome of which is something that a presumed middle-aged man shouldn't tie his identity and mood to.

I've froze my *** off in sub degree weather in the US Navy for 6 hours every day performing my craft. I've spent over 126 days out to sea with no sight of land. 12 hour shifts working out in my off time, studying my craft as well as those that have a direct impact on mine.

No, you're right I didn't play football after highschool I wasn't fortunate or blessed enough to play games with my time, but I can see boneheaded execution of ones craft despite college participation.....and what I thought my superiors did or said mattered as it pertained to my execution or focus on the mission.

My attitude was owned and adjusted as needed to get the job done.

Frost is a college football coach. His players are better than 1/30000 eligible humans...that makes them basically like MIT or Harvard engineers...but at football. Football is a sport that is decided by physicality, contact, conflict. The rules of football do not apply to how you treat your wife, or how you teach a class, or how you shop for groceries. They only apply to football. If you do not have toughness in mind before you go into a contact sport then you are probably going to fail. If you have toughness in mind when you go into an argument with your wife, you are going to fail. It is context based.

Good....and what you did in the Navy was little more serious than college football.

Again...it's a game. If Nebraska never won another game ever again, it shouldn't have any bearing on your life.

Head coaches who have never played college football:

Hugh Freeze-Ole Miss
George O'Leary-UCF
Sonny Dykes-Cal
Paul Johnson- Georgia Tech
Mike Leach-TTU and Washington State

If these guys can coach, then I as a fan can have an opinion on a message board...wait for it...for FANS OPINIONS regarding the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

My life is just fine, I have saving faith despite my flaws, I have a growing family, gainfully employed, and generally good health.

Maybe less conjecture on your part would be prudent here no? You tell me I shouldn't talk about Nebraska Football circumstances on the Husker Board because I never played college ball, but then talk about me as if you know me bruh...talk about insinuating HCSF a hypocrite but pulling that crap with me. Take a lap partner.

For starters, neither of us are any of those people.

Secondly, you can have whatever opinion you want....just kind of BS to call a bunch of people that could kick your rear end with one leg tied behind their backs "pansies", and from behind a keyboard no less. That's all I'm saying.

I never once said Frost was a hypocrite. Quit projecting.

Glad your life is good. I bet it has nothing to do with whether or not this team wins football games.

IF there are players butthurt over SF's presser and torpedoing the team, then yes they are pansies....and need to go play intramurals.

I'd tell you to get lost, but obviously this conversation, what it was I was stating, and your jackass, presumptuous, remarks regarding my life-revealing you as a hypocrite, would be a waste of time because clearly you're just fine in the weeds.
