I have had a hiatal hernia, which was hell. I had a TIF procedure done and laparoscopic placement of my stomach.

Recovery sucked, feel better now but will probably never be what I once was. Can't eat fast, drink too much alcohol, or eat certain foods or the symptoms are really not fun.

Also was diagnosed with food allergies and now on an elimination diet:

Almonds, shrimp, tomatoes, dairy, gluten and eggs (chicken)

So that sucks. I travel a lot for my job and eating is difficult. Have to do this for a year. I will say, I feel great and sleep great now that I don't eat much junk food

FYI - movie theater popcorn is vegan and dairy free. Pretty cool!

I have had two different lung diseases, totally unrelated to each other. First was from exposure to a chemical, took a few years to get all the tumors gone. Second came from nowhere, very rare and no known cure. Doc in Denver said people that she sees with this disease have 40-50% chance to make it 10 years. That was 2012, I have since been cleared, no trace of it and they don’t know why or how, too few cases to have any information. Interestingly, this disease affects primarily Japanese males with Korean second. I have none of that ancestry.

I don’t eat right but in moderation and try to work out 5 days a week. No I don’t bench 400lbs. Had both knees scoped several years ago and they are great. Shots in both shoulders but just keep lifting light weights and life is good.

I could not do a major diet deal, plant based diet would kill me. I like meat!

Right shoulder reconstruction, 2 hernias, 2 knee surgeries, torn bicep. BTW, I would still be a Firefighter again.

Psoriatic arthritis in both knees and I’m only 37. I’ve also had 2 double kidney infections, do not recommend.

Nothing much wrong with me except a disintegrating knee (no cartilage) that will have to be fixed someday. Other than that, if you look at me I look pretty good, but if you look closely at my face, you can see the tracks of my tears.

OP, I also have a hiatal hernia. Also have acid reflux. Both run on Mom's side of the family. About 14 years ago they diagnosed me with Barrett's esophagus. They stuck a tube down me 4 times and radioactively blasted it away. Had they not found it I wouldn't be here today as it would have turned to esophagal cancer long ago. Otherwise I'm in good shape for 59, but I eat a pretty bland diet and take Omeprozole daily. A small price to pay to remain healthy.

Oh, and I read this board, even after losses.

Did you have a procedure for your hernia?

Did you have a procedure for your hernia?

No. Other than three year follow up endoscopy’s, and daily medication, no medical procedure. I know they don’t like to do those unless it is really nasty, so I do sympathize with you. I just really watch my diet. Other than a hamburger occasionally, no red meat, ham or pork. No peanuts. They just tear me up.

Torn Labrum (Left Shoulder)
Arthritis and Major AC Joint Wear and Tear (Right Shoulder)
Patellar Tendinitis in both knees, inclusive of arthritis
All courtesy of a combination of wear and tear from the Marines and dumb party tricks for women wearing yoga pants at the gym (Most of them weren't cute until the room got dark, that said, I've met a few women that no matter how dark a room was, they still weren't cute).

I'm still allergic to bull$shi#, too.

Life is beautiful.

I had two collapsed lungs. Second one was really painful. I was getting ready to play handball, stood up, and suddenly I couldn't breathe. Still don't know why I got those blisters on my lung. Totally F-ed up my cardio.

I had anxiety, RA, Raynauds, heart palpitations, Eczema, and fatigue until I went on the carnivore diet. Everything went away and I've gained muscle and strength easily in the gym. Like steroids.

Also have the hiatal hernia, if I eat too fast food can get stuck which really sucks. Basically you start choking and it hurts like hell.
