Both lines were totally dismantled tonight. On the o line, I would say the only lineman not getting consistently pushed back or bowled over was surprisingly Cam. There isn't one name to positively mention on the d line. Darrion on down were thrown around like rag dolls. Very disappointing for the so called strongest unit on the team.

Dline wasn't the main problem...our OLBs were completely exposed and our lbs and safeties were making first contact 1 or 2 yards passed the LOS and either missing tackles or being pushed back. Alex Davis is too small to play on the line. We don't have great run game safeties and our corners were pretty overmatched by their wrs. It was just a complete mismatch. Minni isn't bad on offense, they were going to score 30. But our offense had no chance to match it.

Question, can we switch to a 4-3? Or have we been recruiting guys for the 3-4 and there’s no turning back? Our 3 guys up front can’t go up against the Big 10 offensive lineman week after week.

Some teams are successful with 4-3, some teams are successful with 3-4, some teams are unsuccessful with 4-3, and some teams are unsuccessful with 3-4.

Crap, Wisconsin does a lot of 2-5 and they seem to have some success in the B1G.

4-3 but I'm not HCSF or DCEC. I also did not embarrass my self tonight like those two gentlemen.

Count me in on going back to a 4-3 defense..

Does Alex Davis and Ferguson ever make any determining difference on Defense?

I think a 5-2 would have been better. We did run some 4-3 and it was a little better. But when they are running one play for 80% of the game, running a 5-2 should completely shut that play down. Either that or putting another linebacker in the second level might have helped on those inside runs instead of running nothing but under or over fronts.

This is correct, D line was OK but LB were terrible and always in the wrong fit. Cam did play a good game though.

This game was about run fits...the line did their job...adding another dlineman would have had no effect because their job is to make sure minni olineman don't make the 2nd level...our safeties and lbs were free, they couldn't make the plays. Their backs were pushing our backup safeties and #7 three or 4 yards down the field. Cam Taylor is the type of defender we want and need, and more similar to what we have at freshman right now in terms of physicality. There is a lot of talent redshirting...man I wish cam was a rsh freshman like he should be.

I saw the d line getting moved backwards and sideways most of the night. Linebackers were awful, that's correct. Over pursuing and not wrapping up or getting 8n the right fits. I'm ready for the old guard to sit and let the young, hungry kids play.

First contact 1 or 2 yards past LOS ? That is very generous. I thought their backs has 6-7 yard running starts before anybody touched them.
