BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

33rd ranked class in the country now, and we probably have around 8 more spots open!

I've been thinking a lot about the state of the program, and I wanted to share some thoughts:

1.) Frost is young, hungry, VERY smart, has a good scheme that he doesn't mind changing a bit, and is a Nebraska guy through and through. I say give him a DECADE before we even think of changing the leadership here.

2.) We just announced the second most expensive facilities upgrade I've ever even HEARD of. Northwestern's technically cost more but it is for all sports and on the shore of Lake Michigan, so, expensive just for those reasons.

3.) Our recruiting seems to be going VERY well despite our struggles.

Parting thought:
I think people freak out on the boards here a lot, myself included, because we're so used to not recognizing success in this program, but we were raised with Nebraska being the machine it once was. Well, I think we need to chill out and take the longer view on this one: Frost has us trending the right way, and is rebuilding the program from the ground up with an AD who backs him and with a University and program that wants success.

Will this occasionally be ugly as the program inches back towards relevance? Absolutely. But are we trending in the right direction? Oh my word yes.

Hell yes! Good grab, think he had an offer to at least one of the big in-state schools, so he must be pretty good.

As someone that does think we need to bring in more overall talent. I love this commit, big thumper with offers from most of the big time programs in the southeast!

It's not true that you can't beat Ohio State with a bunch of coached-up 3 stars and a few stand-out 4 or 5 star players; Purdue and Iowa both did it. It's just that when you're not quite there yet and a team like Ohio State is firing on all cylinders, you are going to get your *** kicked.

Very good news but all the way back to Callahan --especially Callahan — recruiting classes have been praised.

I’ve got a short fuse today. Too many Iowa fans in other threads. So forgive me, but...

So what?!? Now we shouldn’t get excited? This post is almost as bad as any Iowa post in the other threads.

End rant.

He's a 5.7 3*, could get a bump up to four stars. Solid offer list including at least one of the major in-state programs. Good addition to the class.

I feel better if his rating rises as the year wears on. Not a ton there in his Hudl film that just leaps off the screen at you as far as strike, shed, tackle the way that say Hannah's film is, but it's from early in his Jr year, he could really be having a breakout Sr season.

The offers suggest he's thought of as a pretty good player, I worry a lot less about a 3* kid with some big boy schools on his offer list than when we're battling Fresno State, Air Force and Utah State for some kid.

Like I've said before I don't mind a handful of guys like this but if we get back to the Pelini discussion of "Stars don't mean nothin' we'll use steak and weights to put stars on em" to justify a class that lacks star power that's a problem.

Celebrating a recruit and welcoming him is always a nice touch but this thread led off cheering our Rivals recruiting ranking. We’re #33 and heading up!! So what? Same stuff every year and we see how much it matters. The Northwesterns and Iowa’s are behind us every year on these rankings.

You of course are entitled to your opinion but so am I. I welcome every recruit but will continue to express my opinion about these meaningless rankings if that is the topic of the thread.

Enough of this we're bad fans crap. The fans are the ONLY reason this program still has some relevence. If we left we'd be Minnesota. I'm glad Frost got another depth guy but in case you missed last Saturday 3 stars arent cutting it.

We were 0-4 (first game cancelled) at this point last year. We are 3-2 right now. Coach Frost has already made a big impact to this team. We were hoping for the UCF type of turnaround in year two. It didn't happen. That's okay. I like the progress and the type of athletes that he is recruiting.

That’s fine if you don’t want to be excited. It’s easy to just not post in this thread. There are a lot of posters on the free board, many of whom won’t post in this thread.

Instead of saying ho hum, maybe just refrain from posting in this thread. Save your energy for other threads.

Im just sick of so called fans like you.. always have been.. maybe next time you want to post on something with a yawn or negative tint to it sit one out... or...dont get pissed when guys like me decide call you out..

You nailed it Dudz! Notice particularly our OL recruiting! Everybody loves the Robinson types, me included. But if we had our 94-95 OL right now things would be VERY different. Our OL recruiting is showing the trend!

This. I care more about who else is offering than I do stars. Don’t get me wrong, stars matter, but a three star kid with other good offers is a great get.
