I'd argue the white flag was waved as soon as the offense stepped on the field. Two runs with a running game that has sucked for two straight games. Then a crappy snap helps turn into a sack. He was probably just hoping the altitude would be enough for Armstrong to have enough leg on it.

This. There really was no other call. The chances of Armstrong making that kick were alot better than picking up that first down, especially with they way our offense was playing. Now, the two running plays leading up to the 3rd down sack are a different story. The passing game was what was working if anything, no idea why they went to the run not once but twice. Mo had killed it on wheel routes when he'd gotten the chance if you want to get the ball in his hands, and that's such a high percentage pass it's almost as good as a run.

He admitted in his postgame presser that he knew he had to choose one of two bad, low-percentage options. What disturbs me more is what has been mentioned earlier in this thread. Frost's offense is supposedly a pedal-to-the-metal, go-for-the-throat all the time offense. And he's hedging, he's playing for the field goal. He seems to like our defense better than our offense.

Our posession receiver California transfer would have been good in overtime also on 8-9 yard routes

The call I hated most was dropping Martinez straight back on 3rd down. Get him out of the pocket where, if he can't find a receiver, Martinez can at least salvage a few yards and give Armstrong a chance.

All of OT was a disaster. If the O-line hadn't been so terrible, I would have been fine rushing twice to hopefully get to 3rd and short. But Colorado was totally dominating the line of scrimmage.

There are playmakers on the team. But they are rarely touching the ball in space. Too much of the game was put in the hands of Martinez to do it all. That's not how the system works. If you watch UCF, the QB distributes the ball to a bunch of speedy guys, who make things happen. The QB does the setting, not the spiking.

Jury is still out, but he is most definitely getting out coached late in games. When other team adjust, he seems to have a very hard time re adjusting and just gets destroyed. Chins D is no better when in comes to re adjusting.

Frost needs a certain type of QB for his system. He doesn't have that QB. He turns the ball over too much and isn't decisive.

Yeah on 4th down Frost had no good options, so he was going to get second-guessed no matter what. But that's precisely why you cannot afford to go backwards on 3rd down, and yet NU had its QB stand in a pocket that collapsed like a trash compactor.

Should have never come down to a FG in OT so I find it difficult to fault him at that point, because his options sucked right there. I have a much bigger issue with the entire second half.

My 18 y/o son said to me after the game "The Huskers have sucked my whole life"....sigh.

I would guess they had about. 25% chance to make a 1st down on 4th and 13. And about a 25% chance at making a 48 yarder. So either way if it doesn't work, everybody cries.

I asked this question and I’m not being sarcastic. Did you/us ever think that they coaches did make changes but they just don’t have the ponies to make the necessary adjustments? This was just something I was pondering. There seems to be a lot of blame on the coaches and possibly justified, but the players have to suck it up also, the coaches can’t do the blocking,tackling,kicking. Hopefully they put them in the best position to win. Remember some of those years Oklahoma just throttled us. We just didn’t have the ponies.
When coach frost took over he didn’t have the luxury like bo and even smiling mike that he got some talent. Just look at the past nfl draft and it explains a lot of where this program talent wise is
