Haven't been to Omaha in years. Coming in next week to see friends and family. I know it has changed big time since I have left. Would love some ideas where to eat wings, steak, and Italian. Best bar to watch the Red curb stomp the Buffs. Has to have great food. Help, need ideas..

Italian..Lol Sole Mio or Spezia

For steaks I personally would avoid anything in a chain like Mahogany and go to the Drover, they have a wonderful Whiskey Filet. It's sad so many of the old great Italian Steakhouses have closed their doors...

Wings = Cunninghams (Smoked) or Oscar's (Char buffed)

Steak = 801 Chophouse at the Paxton (Whiskey Ribeye with bone marrow drizzle) pricey but really good at $60

Italian = Mangia Itialiana Sugo sauce Lasagna... or anything with Sugo sauce

The Good Life = Good one for the game

The Droven still isn’t open is it? I think sept 3rd and it’ll be slammed with people wanting to get their fix. They have a damn good whiskey steak. But Mohagony is better. It’s a chain but it’s a small chain that most people around Omaha will never experience one other than the Omaha one. And it’s still a world class steakhouse.

I too liked the old ones, but they just couldn't compete for whatever reason. Also, I give a big downvote to Brother Sebs. Just took the wife there 3 weeks ago on our anniversary. While I still love the atmosphere and decor, it was simply the worst service I've had in Omaha in a very long time. The food was also sub-par including the salad bar where I guess bagged stuff I can get from wal-mart is the order of the day.

Chophouse and Sullivan's are good downtown. I went to Johnny's on Valentines Day this year, it was also really good. You can get a full dinner for 2 for $60 and it is probably way more food than you can eat.

The clientele for those places are all dead now, or can't drive anymore, the younger generation prefers places that have apps and glitzy commercial's.....I just like great food in a building with soul, and I refuse to download a single app for anything :(

You know, I was pretty impressed with the responses in this thread. When it was first posted I began bracing for Wing Stop, Outback and the Valentino's buffet.
