I think he was the best he could get. Sounded like he went after at least 2 others and was turned down. He’s definitely getting us some top tier Head Coaches in ever sport. I know the Baseball hire in Bolt is up and down by fans but with the coaches Moos has been getting us...he must of felt Bolt was our guy and say give him the benefit of the doubt there. GBR.

I've never seen that he "went after" Childress and the retired c Beaver coach which neither one were a viable option. Yes we would like to have gotten Childress. But his buy-out was ridiculously high and not in our wheelhouse. Why would we hire a retired coach from the left coast? Good coach yes but would have to rely primarily on Cali recruiting.yea, childress and the oregon st coach, both of whom were never ever leaving in the first place
I wouldn't call that 'turned down' unless I was trolling
That's an oped with no sources of quotes. I have no doubt Moos"inquired" from names on his list. Read the message boards which I believe sports writer types do to get the"pulse" and anyone could look at Childress. Do the math and even a blind squirrel could figure out that wasn't an option with his buy-out. Moos talk to Childress? Sure about Bolt. In conversation, hey would you be interested???https://d1baseball.com/coaching-buzz/nebraskahiresbolt/
Nebraska Hires Texas A&M’s Bolt As Head Coach
COACHING BUZZKendall Rogers - June 14, 2019
This hire hardly comes as a surprise. The Huskers inquired about Bolt’s boss, Texas A&M’s Rob Childress early in the process. However, Childress is at A&M and the Southeastern Conference, and the move wouldn’t’ have made much sense from a career standpoint, especially considering Childress has a robust buyout for well over $1 million. The Huskers also inquired about other brand name coaches, including Oregon State’s Pat Casey, among others.
Hope this helps.
Kendall Rogers has been around college baseball a very long time and does a great job. He just doesn't blow smoke. I would trust him. He has a reputation to preserve.I've never seen that he "went after" Childress and the retired c Beaver coach which neither one were a viable option. Yes we would like to have gotten Childress. Granted Moos said he only talked to one. May have looked into options, but I don't think we were turned down twice. Maybe our wishlist were not viable options. Fine, so be it. But I don't think Moos was turned down.
