I did. I've always assumed most of the board either played college or at least some high school ball.

Turned down an offer to wrestle--I knew my grades would suffer too much. later found myself as an Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist for a few different D1 schools, Olympic Training center and 96 Olympic Games

I was on the varsity drinking team at a D3 school. We thought we were pretty good. Then one weekend a bunch of Sorority girls from a D1 SEC school drank us under the table.

Truely a humbling experience.

I had a full ride for drinking sports. It all came crashing down during a game of quarters. The coin bounced too high. Hit my eye. Depth perception was shot and cost me a scholly. Tried to make a come back a few years ago in the Venezuelan league. It just didnt happen. I wouldnt juice like the rest of them. Like Springsteen says “ glory days...”

Turned down playing Rugby for NU; not possible to be on campus only 4 days of the week and still do well.

Do intramural football leagues count? Lol

I'm not sure when you played but back in the pre-foreign player dominated college tennis world, NAIA was a good level...we consistently played some D1 schools and held our own....don't degrade your accomplishments:)

Played baseball for 2 years at the NAIA level. Got burned out after my sophomore season and decided to hang up cleats.

Are they peanut butter Oreos? Because I could crush a bag of those no problem
I haven't had the joy of ruining those yet. Going to get some after work. I can feel my man teats expanding as I think about those. My inner Homer Simpson is in full Beast Mode!

Thanks Spartan... when I played there was one foreign born player in the conference. My daughter now plays at Concordia and I’ve had a chance to watch her the last two years and have seen the men play as well.

I would not have had the success I did then if I was faced with similar competition levels. It’s amazing how much tennis has changed with the number of foreign born players now.

I chose to play football at Doane over Fort Hays State in KS. Also could have been a swimmer in college but figured I really did not have the body type for swimming at that level. Turns out the football angle didn't have long term prospects either as I was too slow.

I have a mixed perspective these days....I played in the day with NO foreign players...moved to Wichita in 1977, became good friends/hitting acquaintances with many WSU players, almost ALL from other places...they may have been cutting edge..today, three of my assistant coaches played at WSU and the perspective they bring is so interesting and GOOD for our kids...i love them...but at same time, less spots for American players.
