I think your gonna see a lot of Luke Gifford when you watch Alex Davis. It seems like the coaches want the OLB to take two steps upfield and turn 90 degrees and seal the outside. Pretty boring to watch, but effective.

Benning also has stated that he thinks Hixson is the leader for the open guard spot.

Where is Breon Dixon at? Is he injured? He was a transfer from Ole Miss last yr that was supposed to be Frost's Shaquem Griffin. He was a top-rated player from Georgia in 2017.

That's what got us killed last year when the ILB's can't fill the gap that leaves. That makes it tough on a player like Mo Barry, not to mention having Dedrick Young try to find the right gap to fill. There are ways to seal the outside without having to take two steps upfield and leaving the rest of the defense exposed.

I think he is going to be a guy that never plays. It just seems like that.

Why is he not a better fit at safety?

Yeah, when rushing the passer, you don't want to be predictable by doing the same thing over and over and over again.

BTW.....they let a walkon olb take the #34 also. Having 2 defensive guys with the same # doesnt sound promising.

Striking out on Breon Dixon would hurt, but hopefully he’ll bounce back as he’d a young-ish guy still.
Caleb Tannor needs to step up. I think Chin said he’s still working on the mental side, and he still needs to fill out physically I think.
I’m hoping Garrett Nelson can be ready to provide the spark we need from him by the time game 1 arrives.
