You talk like some fans will be calling for FH to fire his head assistant during year 1. That’s crazy. Oh, wait.

Not that bad, but it sure feels like people are expecting elite 8 in year 3. The hire is fantastic if for no other reason it shows everybody that we're (finally) serious and are all N on basketball. That should definitely make an impact in W's.

Fred is a good coach, but far from the hottest name in college basketball. He had some good success at Iowa State but had a lot of off the court issues with the type of players he brought in. Definitely an upgrade. Don’t be surprised if he’s in the NBA in 3 years.

So Hoiberg is such a not-all-that-great hire that he's going to parlay the Nebraska job into an NBA gig within three years? At least you've covered all the reasons why we shouldn't be excited to have him at NU.

What off-the-court issues did he have at Iowa State? He brought in some transfers that had issues at their previous schools, but I don't remember any off-court issues at Iowa State under Hoiberg. It seems like they've had more issues off-the-court under Prohm.
