Not the wrong thing to do and see how it goes. Good guage of where he is. I think it's prudent. I think all of us would like to have him return, but in reality, few of us IF in his shoes wouldn't do the same.

Best of luck and GBR

Some are already saying he is a late 1 round pick..
Be his and his family decision unless FH can convince him other wise..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 1st-round picks' contracts are guaranteed but 2nd-round contracts are not, right?

I just don’t see 1st round talent when I watch him. Just isn’t very consistent

He’s definitely the most talented player on the court when the Huskers played Creighton. Dude, you have the damn Jayskers badge on. Your going to be bias for the Fluejays. I honestly think he should return and focus on being the main guy. He to often let Palmer Jr, Copeland and Watson do their thing. But he easily could have took over a game. Two: he played 5 (center) constantly when he’s a true 4 (power forward). So he’s not even playing his true position. Dude has all the talent and the sky is the limit. I really think he should come back and focus on being “The Man” for us but it’s decision to make. Hopefully he comes back and I hope Allen stays as well. He’s a threat from 3, fingers crossed.

Wow, you have issues dude... Do you not think it is possible to actually like more than 1 team? Did you not read when I said I cheered for Nebraska against Creighton this year?

So do you just cheer for who you think is going to win that particular year?

I dont see him being a 1st or 2nd round pick. No way that he is one of the best 60 college players.
Of course he isn't, but the best 60 college players don't get drafted. If Roby enters the draft, someone will take a chance on him based on his athleticism.

But if the feedback he gets says mid-to-late second round, I suspect he'll withdraw and come back as a senior. Right now I think that's a likely scenario.

I think he'd be better off staying, but I'm not sure the Huskers would. He never has reached wherever potential he had. He could've been so, so, so much better.

Roby 1) isn’t aggressive and 2) shooting % isn’t consistent. I just don’t see NBA in his future unless these change.

I'd like to see him come back. Unless he gets a solid 1st round grade (which would be a slight surprise to me) I think it would make sense to come back. With contracts outside the lottery not being guaranteed as mentioned above, I'd take the gamble on improving my stock under different circumstances and a different coach, but that's me and I'm not actually faced with the decision.

He easily could have taken over a game? Why didn't he then? Yes the dude is an athletic freak, but he needs more time to work on his skill and get better. I'm not a Creighton homer at all, and I can see that. Is he the most athletically gifted dude we've had in awhile on NU Hoops. Hell yes, but he still needs a lot of fine tuning, and to find some sort of killer instinct to do what you suggest he already can and take over games. I don't see it.

Honestly if he's not projected in the first half of the first round, I think he would be better off coming back but that would be a tough choice. I don't remember if late first rounders still get a guaranteed contract or not. Second rounders get next to nothing and are probably better off as free agents.

For some reason I was thinking that the last half of the first round don't get guaranteed contracts. Do you know if there's a difference?
I think it got changed...it used to be just the lottery but now it is the entire first round.

I generally cheer for who benefits from a win more. This year was supposed to be the Huskers’ year. Some years I just sit back and drink and enjoy a fun game

I have zero ties to either school other than being born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.
Ive been pretty hard on you in past because of this..however i would agree with your assesment. I dont see any 1st round picks on either teams this year and if the matchup would have come to light in the NIT .. creighton would have won.. now i will try not to pick on you or anyone moving forward for who they root for.. please forgive me?

To be fair, he basically took over games in March, with the exception of the TCU game where he was ejected.

Vs. Michigan State, Iowa, Rutgers, Maryland, Wisconsin, and Butler he averaged 18 and 8 per game while shooting over 50% from the field and nearly 3 blocks per game.

If I'm Hoiberg, I find a legit "5" via transfer and sell Roby on playing his actual position for another season.

Did you watch the Butler game by chance? How about the second Iowa game? Maybe the Northwestern Game?

It's there you just don't want to see it. The guy said "he could easily take over a game"... He is definitely capable. You just don't see any consistency, and that tells you he can't "easily" do it. I can't remember what reporter said this, but they said "Roby is not used right, because of selfish guard play"... another said "Roby played out of position all year, if he was able to play his true position a stretch 4 instead of a 5. He could of been the guy the sky's the limit for that kid!"

You don't ever go 19 and 16 if you don't have the capability to take over a game. Why people feel Roby can take over a game isn't because of scoring. That is where people go blind, because the kid does everything else so well.

NBA scouts have seen him and will see him in pre-draft workouts. So they will either think he is a lottery pick, like you seem to think, or that he is hardly draftable.

Never said anything about lottery pick, but he is a draftable prospect for sure

There are 60 picks...10 of those will be overseas players...out of the remaining 50 there might be two seniors.

Dude needs to go now...NBA is a draft based on potential way more than a anything else.
