Ed Morrow seems to have made a solid choice too
Morrow's role for Marquette is pretty much identical to his one with NU. IF he and Jacobsen had stayed, we're probably in the tournament last and this year both. Morrow supposedly transferred because Miles didn't want him playing on the wing. Jacobsen is a mystery. He indicated in one interview that Miles wasn't the reason but that he wasn't ready to talk about it. Girlfriend issue? Conflict with Palmer or Copeland? Who knows. Jacobsen and Morrow leaving should have been a huge red flag for me and I discounted it. Our AD should have done an exit interview at that time with those guys to see why they were leaving.

I watched a few minutes of the Marquette v Seton hall game and Morrow put the ball on the floor and immediately had it stolen from him. He left because he didn't want to play the 5 and it looked like he was playing the 5 for Marquette. He's on a better team, but was it really a better decision to leave?

Morrow's offensive game hasn't advanced much at all, but in a way that makes him a good fit for Marquette. Their post players rarely see the ball anyway, and at least now he's playing with guys who can shoot. But yeah, if someone out there told Morrow that he's a wing player, they gave him bad advice.

Not sure why Jacobson left NU, but it wasn't lack of playing time. Miles played him a crapload of minutes both years he was there. Morrow played a lot too, although he had nagging injuries that kept off the court some of the time, and at times he seemed frustrated to be splitting time with Tschimanga. Had either known that Tschimanga was going to leave, that might have changed things - who knows?

I don't think we can put a lot of stock in what a player says publicly. It's pretty rare for a player to speak candidly. Kinda like coaches resigning for "family reasons"-- take the high road and move on.

There's been a rumor around for a while that Palmer didn't get along with some of his teammates. I wonder if Jacobsen leaving wasn't a conflict with teammates. I know the Iverson kid left Minnesota to go play for Miles at CSU in part because Minnesota had a bunch of thugs on the team that he didn't want to be around. People forget how closely a basketball team has to live for long periods of time.

A one on one confidential exit interview by Moos of Jacobsen might have been enlightening.

It has been interesting for me to follow WSU kind of closely this year, including sitting 10 feet from the bench twice st games and then seeing most of the team come to the UCONN women’s game together... I sense with THEM A genuine closeness that I have not always seen on other teams and some times it shows up in goofy moments. Hopefully all our coaches foster togetherness
