My prediction is that Moos will give Miles a new two year contract this weekend. There is no way in hell someone else is going to do better than Miles. In 7 years, Miles has had Nebraska in the NCAA tourney or on the bubble 3 times. Please I will buy you a steak dinner if another coach is able to do that in the near future. What a performance in Chicago. That right there my friends is COACHING. I believe that the second half of the season was a player thing. Nana could have been a cancer to the team.. all of the sudden they play great when hes not on the travel roster. Palmers grandma had been battling cancer for most of the season and was tough to deal with who knows.

To collect on the steak dinner, do I just get to define "the bubble" any way I damn well please?

Huskers were not really on the bubble last year, and weren't this year either.

Great effort today and this week. But if Moos was done with Miles after the regular season, he still is.

Danny Nee might disagree. Also, Sadler had a better overall winning percentage despite crappy facilities and no fan support.

very indifferent on that. has fan support been better since Miles has been here? better facilities yes but fan support idk

also, the big 10 top to bottom this year was a lot better league than 2010 big 12. a Doc team would not go 18-16 in the big 10 this year

Not the guys who knew what they were talking about. Those analysts never had Nebraska on the bubble, which prompted your BFF to go on Big Ten Network and squeal about how wrong they were - right before NU landed in the NIT as a #4 seed.

Miles assistants got him where he was, Craig Smith was and is a better coach than Miles. There are probably 50-60 coaches who can do what Miles is doing here, will the $ be there for the 30-40 guys who would be better than Miles? Will they come?

Not that it matters, but we are going to get killed by the national media if we fire Miles. Katz summed it up...”Miles is high ethics, high character that ran a clean program, Nebraska will never be a power basketball school and Nebraska should know who they are.” That’s the reality of what we are perceived to be.

Not to be rude, but what's the point of having a basketball program just because the coach is a high character guy? Save the money and pay him 1/10th of his salary to coach intramural ball. The goal of having a major college sports program is to win, and to win ethically. Many coaches have done that and we should be no exception.

Keep Miles, or don't keep Miles, based on the results on the court. I could not give less of a crap what TV talking heads say about how Big Meanie Nebraska U mistreated their pal.

We have bricks and mortar in place, fan support ( sell beer ). Now when will they get administrative support? 11th in the BIG in basketball spending, not allowed to use outside consultant ( Frost and Cook were allowed) let them use private plane.
No matter who we hire they will not be successful without administrative support.
So I agree with bearcat.

Andy Katz prefaced his stump speech with, "I won't be making the decision on the status of Tim Miles," and my thoughts on that are good. Now shut the hell up and let us decide how we run our program, lerch.

I think it's strange to hold off on an announcement until after the NIT. If he's staying, say so. If he's done, say so. Nothing's going to change based on the NIT.

I respect him as person. He brings character , and honesty to a sport that many programs lack. I understand Nebraska is not the type of program that has been or might not ever be a top program. That doesn't mean we sit on our hands, say oh well and not keep trying. After 7 years Miles has shown enough to know what we are getting. It is an average team at best. There are many coach who can and have done what Miles has.

That is a big stretch saying the Huskers have been a bubble team. Lets stick with facts and not perceptions. Miles just finished up his seventh year. He is 115-113 (.504) overall with a 52-76 (.406) Big Ten record. The Huskers lost in the first round in their one and only NCAA Tournament appearance and again in the first round of their only NIT appearance. I am willing to bet a steak dinner you were also calling for Mike Riley to continue coaching the Huskers. Not sure your agenda but it seems to me you like seeing the Huskers stuck in the muck and also -rans.

If Miles is back, then I hope that means that Moos put out feelers to high quality candidates and none expressed any interest in taking the job if it were to come open. Or worse, be afraid that no one would take the job.

IMO, this is not a program that can just expect to fire a coach with no one in place, and believe we can just offer enough $$ that someone reputable will take the job.

If he stays, before fans grab the pitchforks and form a lynch mob, realize there is a possibility that Moos may have had little choice.

Personally I think there is 0 chance he stays nor does he deserve to stay. He has done nothing to move the program forward. 1 appearance, 1 loss. The people advocating he stay I'm not sure what to make of. We aren't even mediocre.

Moos gave a "I'm not ready to deal with this now" contract extension after another failed season last year. I would be shocked if he gives more than that after yet another failed season and fully expect Miles to go. I guess it depends on if Moos has found a candidate.

Talking heads are paid to blow sunshine up people's asses. Doesn't surprise me they gush over Miles. They gushed over Riley as well.

The fact that Thad Matta would choose UNLV over Nebraska, and Oats would choose to stay in Buffalo for less money, shows you how lowly this job is perceived.

In other words, the next coach is going to be another mid-major guy that most people haven't heard of.

Miles sucks man. Get over it. And the B1G isn’t some power conference like you draw it up in your head to be. Outside of the state of Michigan, this conference is pretty weak.

One title in 19 freaking years. The Big 8 was a much better conference in the 90s then this crap and NU did much better in it then Miles ever did

Several talking heads said this same kinda crap about the football program a couple years ago. Weird how the right coach can change the dialog. All respect to Katz, he hasn't watched every game the last 7 years like the fans (us). I have nothing against Miles, it's time.

OK, now on to the talk of who will Nebraska get if Miles is let go? We all know it's going to take an above average coach to surpass what Miles has done during his time at UNL.

What good coach do you really think will take the job? Not who you want, but who will take it?

If Moos had someone like Hoiberg lined up, why wouldn't he fire Miles right away instead of leaving him hanging?

I sure hope Moos has someone lined up, because it won't be easy to get a good coach to take the job with the media crucifying him right now.

Anybody who would have taken the job before the Timmy Lovefest began is going to take it now. People don’t turn down millions of dollars because a few talking heads think the guy before him got a raw deal.

That doesn’t mean people are beating down the door to get the NU job, but the field isn’t dwindling because a few people are slobbering over Miles.

You act like Matta and Oats were offered the job and turned it down.
