As a Giant fan.. the only downside here is they have 16mil against our salary cap this year.. they dont have to pay it but it still counts against them.. i was tired of objs attitude.. hes a great talent but man drama drama..i like the deal

Most Giant fans are pissed. Surprised you'd be good with this.

Couple reasons.. they have sheppard /engram and couple other serbicable wrs... but like i said when the rumors come out he would be traded.. im good with it.. i would have liked 2 1st rounders but getting peppers to me is just as good. I think they put their trust in this being saquons team moving forward..a much better face of the franchise.. saves quite a bit of money as well...

Now it remains to be seen whether they botch the picks in this draft. I think Gettlemans strong suit is drafting..so we will see. Priority 1 Elis replacement #2 oline or rushe end! Like i said we shall see..

They must have some picks in the draft that they really want to move on obj now.. if they waited to trade him after june1 they wouldnt have the salary hit.. so that tells me they think they can address qb with 1 of the 1st rounders... (haskins) i believe.. and then get an elite rush end or that stud WR to replace Beckam.. i dont know.. i stand by i like this trade jury still out and hopefully LOVE it after the draft

Maybe they take Metcalf with the late 1st to fill that void. Or they could just be trying to piss Eli off enough so that he retires.

When they hired Gettleman as GM I knew it would be a trainwreck. They could have traded OBJ for the 4th overall pick last year. They could have drafted Sam Darnold at 2 Saquan at 4. Then released Eli gracefully.

Instead of having a ton of cap space we have a ton of dead money & paying Eli 23 million. It’s going to be hard to watch as long as the front office is clueless and has no direction.

The big question will be is he Randy Moss going to the Raiders or Randy Moss going to New England. Randy was trash with the Raiders because he didn't care at all. He suddenly became great again when he moved to Boston.

Darnold isn't that great. Would've been a waste of the second overall pick for the G-men

Its hard to take you serious with a name like joedaley first.. 2nd i think they will change your mind after the draft.. i believe Mara and shurmer were the ones who kaboshed that trade according to Jay Glazier last year and he said that it was a deal where both sides obj and the Gmen wanted to part ways.. this trade is good for both sides as long as obj plays well in cleveland.. im not worried about the giants front office.. you will look at this in 3 years and it will be look like the Hershell Walker trade to the vikes... cowboys won that deal..Giants will win too

Seems like a total Browns move...give up Jabril Peppers, their 17th overall pick and 2nd of their 2 3rd round picks...I mean, I guess a nice weapon for Baker but gave up a ton
Not really sure what you mean here. With all the picks over the years that the browns have accumulated they really didn’t give up that much. They needed depth on the d-line and got it already. Needed another weapon on offense and they got two in Kareem Hunt and OBJ. They could use another corner opposite Ward but it’s not a necessity to draft one at this point. With the cap space that they have plus the talent they already have on the roster plus coming off their best year in what..7 years? This was a damn good move. The offense gets that much more fire power and it’s the perfect situation. Jarvis is Odell’s best friend and they have their position coach from LSU there as well so I doubt we’ll see any of the s*** he pulled in New York. From the Giants perspective the trade makes sense in terms of getting rid of contracts from the past regime that aren’t “your guys”. From a production standpoint..they got screwed and someone should be fired. Draft picks in no way shape or form gauruntee productivity and that’s exactly what the giants gave up..and a lot of it. The browns won this trade hands down in more ways than one.

Not sure what my name has to do with anything, but I will screenshot this so in 3 years maybe you can take my name more seriously. I think the Browns are getting the better deal. OBJ will likely help them win more games than what the Giants do with that 1st and 3rd pick. And the Giants will still be drafting in the top 10 3 years from now. You can screenshot that as my prediction.

If his name is referring to the QB who transferred from Nebraska it was "Joe "Dailey"

Thanks that was awhile ago and forgot about him. Anyways to clarify my last post, my problems are more with how the front office is handling things. If they knew OBJ was such a problem last year and things would not change, they should have done it last year instead of giving him that big deal. That and other moves they have done just don't give me much confidence in things getting any better soon.

Browns won this trade and took their roster to another level. 17th pick in the first round...big deal. They still have 8 draft picks to use for OL, DL, and corner. I do think they are a playoff team now and could go deep into the playoffs.

It wasnt really Gettleman... that was Mara and Shurmer... Gettleman made this decision to trade now. I agree its a little goofy since if they traded him after june1 there would not be 16 mil of dead money hitting the salary cap this year..which tells me they can address their needs and sign a couple rookies under rookie contracts for a lot less then what they would pay obj and allows for more room to resign Barkely for a long term deal in 3 years after he is out of his tookie deal.. makes good sense to me.screen shot all you want

We need to remember OBJ might not be a Brown for very long..... he, like A Brown, will want a new contract

He just got a new contract which is part of the reason why Giants fans are so upset. Huge cap hit trading him away. something like 5yrs/90million with the Giants getting stuck with like 16 million against their cap.

Yes I believe it was Shurmer's idea to try and work with OBJ and not trade him, but that's like giving your ex a second chance lol. It never works out.

If Dave's master plan is to trade off everyone good except Barkley and suck for 2 years so they can be able to draft that Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence in the draft and have plenty of cap space to build around him, I might forgive him.

I won’t bother explaining...might hurt your head. Even someone with a minimal football mind could figure out exactly why this team is dangerous
