I could be totally wrong here, but right now he just looks a little small. I'm sure summer conditioning will help some, and he could be the guy this year. I just want a good OL and to beat those ******** at Wisky and Iowa.

Weight given as 286 in winter conditioning, would think he could be at 300 before the season. And given his level of athleticism, at 6-4 and 300 he would be a lot to handle. Frost has commented more than once that his blocking skills are high. Some kids naturally have things that can't be taught. A high level of athleticism is one (Jurgens) and a strong desire to play is another (Hixson). Austin stated that technique is always something that is worked on to improve, but the other things are the most difficult to teach.
The big thing for Jurgens is to stay healthy.

He is just one of those guys that is bull-strong. In the old days he woulda been in the circus bending steel bars over his thigh. If his bones hold up you will see him rag-dolling people the next few years.

Frost is home. We now have expectations. I'm sure he will continue to put on weight and get stronger. Seems to be a really good athlete. I'm just hoping he has a mean streak. Nothing better than wanting to kill the guy across from you, then shake his hand after laying a beat-down on him.

This thread is amusing considering Nebraska has had centers like Michael Caputo, Mark Pelini, and Dylan Utter: Three of the smallest Centers in College football.

Jurgens dwarfs those dudes.
Thank you.

Center can be your smallest position. Now ther is a limit of course, but jurgens is big enough to play and play well.
His feet are incredibly quick for an o lineman. He shouldnt have leverage issues.

Assuming he masters the calls, which will be difficult, he should be very good. Granted he stays healthy.

Wouldn't that cause flag to be thrown for holding??

Frost or one of the coaches was quoted saying at the end of last season that he was pound for pound, by and large the strongest player on the team—as a Redshirt Freshman. I think it's gonna be okay.

I'll settle for 6'4 293lbs of pure muscle, athleticism, speed, and max explosiveness !

My God man, those days bugged the hell out of me. Tossed back 5 yards every other play.
Mark Pelini who was I believe a back up high school defensive back got a free ride to Lincoln cause his uncle Bo was our coach. His uncle then allowed him to gain 100+ pounds of fat and start on our OL while we had a very high 4 star in Ryne Reeves behind him on the depth chart. Most blatant nepotism I have and believe I will ever see.
