As of now I voted “NO”. But that’s for now, as of “NOW” I do NOT have the full story. And that’s never enough to make a judgement call. I learned in my early age you should never be quick to judge, so until ALL the facts come out and we see what happens, then I’ll chime in more. So for now, I’m going with “NO”, he should NOT be kicked off the team before his side of things get out and we know everything.

As of 9:13 pm on February 12, 2019 there are about 158 d-bags passing judgement among us. And that is just the d-bags who voted and does not include the d-bag(s) with strong opinions who didn't vote.
I get that, but there should still be a scope defined. From what was posted earlier it covered issues from enrollment on, and not stuff prior.
I didn't vote, and I don't have a strong opinion because I see both sides. But I'm definitely a d-bag.
For one, he was not INVOLVED in the video. All we know as of now is he sent it to her with some choice words, period. Nothing more and nothing less. Let’s not make into more then it is.

Problem is, a large percentage of high school and college kids (male and female) and a lesser percentage of jr high and elementary kids have the exact same stuff on their phones. They get caught and get suspended and life goes on. Unfortunately, Mo is a player at a high profile university. This stuff is now as common as getting caught smoking weed. Both parties have culpability so if he broke rules since joining NU, then punish him. Otherwise move on...
That is a false statement. He had nothing to do with the video and the police have already said that. I respect your opinion and understand it.

Appreciate the clarification, probably didn’t need it, but since I didn’t use common sense to look beyond the poll, the clarification was necessary for me.
I agree that this board is not representative of the fan base. And truth be told, if this happened to be Iowa we were talking about, it would be cut and dried for the vast majority here. The fact that he is a likely starter on my team skews it if I am being totally objective. It is hard to take the emotion out.
Either way, this is a mess.
So I mentioned I'm watching Wonder Woman... there's a scene where she's riding a horse and then she jumps off about 30 feet in the air and does a somersault over a tall barbed wire fence. My question is, what'd she need the horse for? Isn't that kinda superfluous? You ever see Superman drive a car to the scene of the action?
Is it common to keep it on their phones for years and then to send it to a person involved years later as an adult? Trying to gather information to use in future parenting and interactions with law enforcement so I can tell my kids/cops if it’s okay or not based on others doing it. Also I presume there are people lobbying to decriminalize child porn and to try to monetize it is well.

No, that’s still a misdeamor level offense to me by 18 year old with all that we do know. Nothing outside of him being part of the assault, the filming, or distribution of the video to others warrant anything, but probation and a short suspension in my opinion.
Then the other ten posts wouldn't make sense. I vote he keeps it just for the continuity.

You guys were of the opinion that it couldn't have been rape because she didn't struggle. So let me ask you are you a woman? If so, have you been raped? And even if you answered yes to one or both of these questions, that does not exonerate you. If yes to both, if you struggled, does that mean her situation was the same as yours and is she required to react like you for it to be rape? If your answers, not a woman and not raped, then you will most likely not ever know what it feels like to be a woman being raped. So honestly, I could not care less what your opinion is on how women should respond to being raped! It would appear that we won't agree on this, so it is pointless to continue discussing this topic. I would say yes, it is common for that stuff to hang out in kids phones for a very long time. No, it is not ok but this board is treating him like he is the only person in the world who has done it. Also, I think half the kids with phones in America would be in deep **** if this counts as child pornography...

People can't have it both ways dipicting this as a football team issue and ignoring his role as an enrolled student at UNL .
If you say the university cannot be involved because the incident happened prior to enrollment then why argue status as a football player?
This is a student receiving scholarship money to attend school as a football player. Course fees, housing, books, etc
What about after the material has been part of an investigation before, caused authorities to come to school, and a huge mess, etc? Still common?
The potential discipline from the football team would be an attempt to minimize the negative public opinion that this situation has created as well as something to make sure that Mo gets his stuff together and keeps it together. Hopefully the punishment includes a twitter ban for him.
It wouldn't surprise me if it was still common. This is fairly new ground that we are breaking (unfortunately for NU), but I'm sure we'll read and hear more about similar incidents in the future.
This may be an issue wrt being on the team, but not one that would affect his enrollment.
As well as the University as a whole...there is a greater entity than simply a negative light on the football program.
It would certainly surprise me.
I assume most kids who had it would scramble like hell to get it off their phones if theres cops looking into it and people getting probation, expelled, etc. i think it would be an eye opener for them, but thats just me.
