It seems he has officially been charged with possession of child porn. Though no arrest warrant has been issued.
My humble opinion is no. This is sounding more and more like his ex had a threesome, the boys spread it around to friends to brag. Mo being one of them one of those who was sent the video. She got caught and now to save embarrassment is claiming assault. The video should easily be able to tell if she was willing or not.
He tried to get back with her, she said she is not interested, he gets pissed. Sends the video and calls her a hoe.
This was a horribly stupid decision on his part. However, I would venture to guess if you go on any 14- 17 males phones you would find some sort of "child porn" on a high percentage of them. Mo shouldn't be labeled a sex offender for the rest of his life, nor have to suffer the rest of his life for a stupid teenage decision.

I tend to agree, but am waiting for a lot more details to be made public; I think he should probably have at least a suspension and be in jeopardy of being kicked out of the program, but the details will say a lot.

If anything comes out that makes this any worse than it already is, I say his *** should be kicked out. And I may change my mind on that and just say kick him out anyway. This is bad and we really shouldn't tolerate it.

What part are you considering bad and shouldn't be tolerated? If it comes out that she was really assaulted, he had the video and didn't do anything. Then sent it back to her to rub it in her face. Then yes that was horrible and he should be kicked off. As of right now he had a video on his phone of people having sex who happened to be 15 at the time, which so was he. Then he send it to her to basically say f off. Stupid and immature yes 100%, ruin his life over it. Probably not that level of bad.

If she reached out to congratulate him and he made sexual advances and was rebuffed, and responded with the video with the nasty caption, it's time for him to go. It won't be worth the blowback to the university.

I agree in the fact that the university will probably not want to mess with it. It is a PR nightmare no matter how minor it ends up being.

Assuming revenge porn falls under sexual misconduct, he doesn't even have to be convicted for the university to take action.

"1d. Sexual misconduct by or against a student may be investigated by the University whether it is alleged to have been committed on or off campus."

I'm assuming since their revenge porn law is fairly new, law enforcement and prosecutors will see this somewhat known athlete as a prime opportunity to make an example that they will aggressively enforce the law. Speaking of PR nightmares, put yourself in the shoes of the prosecutor.... if the facts show that Mo broke this law (or several laws) there is nothing to be gained by cutting him a break. My prediction is he'll be convicted of misdemeanor and placed on some type of probation. We'll see.

You have a twisted sense of logic and a disturbing pattern of thought. You automatically assume the girl is evil and out to get the guy. Using the “everyone does it” card is pathetic and representative of the largest issues we face as a society.

Whether the young ladies actions were consensual or not are inconsequential to the issue with Washington. The facts are a person had an illegal video of an underage person, she did not provide it to him. Beyond possession he used something that was hurtful to her to attack her personally. Regardless of any of the circumstances he knew that she would be ashamed of seeing the video, which was his motive for sending it. The notion that a 16-17 year old should be able to do things consequence free is ignorance at best. The victims in these situations don’t get to escape the results of the situations, why do we as a society insist on helping the perpetrators of crimes and ignore the issues that they present to the victims?

I can only assume you don’t have daughters, think about setting them down and saying that it wasn’t a big deal because the perpetrator was under some arbitrary line set up (age). Rather than teaching people there are consequences at any age we marginalize people who are the victims because they had the unfortunate circumstance of being violated by somebody under the arbitrary line.

Just can't justify ruining a kids life over something like this. He is in college and has a career in football. You are going to lump him in with the chimos and send to jail over some dumb BS?? Really?? Probation and a no tolerance policy moving forward. Don't brand him for life and send another to jail.

If the accusations are correct, yes - Based on Scott Frost's own words/standards.

I hope he gets another chance at another school, but Frost is trying to turn around a culture, and keeping him on the team would make him a hypocrite after what he said last year about social media and the type of young men he wants in his program.

Leave it to a Hawkeye fan to not understand a simple concept. He is saying that pretty much every high school kid has sent nude pics of him or herself to someone of the opposite sex. Understand now, dope?

Washington is 19. He is not 17. According to the law, he is an adult with a video of a child having sex. Who he sent it to and who is in the video is irrelevant. It might not seem just, but that is the law. Saying every high school kid has the same on their phones (a patently false assertion, by the way) is simply not applicable. It is like saying that every high school kid has had sex with a high school kid, so why can't adults have sex with high school kids?

Im not saying that at all. Im saying the men in the video have not been charged with assault and sounds like wont be. The video should be very easy to tell if she was assaulted or willing. Since no charges have been filed, take a guess what the video showed. It seems a woman can scream "assault" to anyone she feels wronged her at any time she feels like. Instantly society goes on attack mode. With little to no proof of anything. It is like crying wolf, it minimizes those who have really went through such a thing.

My thing is it worth him being labeled as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Is it worth him losing his football career, possibly a shot at the NFL. We all make/ have made horribly stupid choices in our teens. Many were lucky enough to never get caught and face consequences. Should he be punished by the team, yes. Suspend him until everything is figured/ sorted out.

So you think he should be viewed the same as say a 45 year old man who was caught with 1,000s of pictures on his computer of naked little kids? He should face the same charges, the same sentence, the same consequences?

Hard time understanding how Mo could be in trouble but not the two guys actually doing the crime in the video.

all I think - IF he did send the video with the message that was reported...he is not only young and stupid...but it was down right evil and disgusting. IF it's proven he did send it - I personally will hope he is beaten out, and if he plays my stomach will turn every time the crowd erupts because of something he does to entertain them.

Again, materially irrelevant to the situation. He possessed child pornography (even if self produced in California minors cannot consent to sexual activity) and then took it a step further by sending to the person to embarrass/humiliate her. There should be consequences per the law and the standards Frost has set out for the program.

As I said, it may not be just, but that is the law. What I think doesn't matter in this case. It is what the law says.
