Bacchanal Fine Wine and Spirits is a quirky spot off the beaten path. Great food and good live music.

Good suggestion! I was just there for a wedding party event and enjoyed myself!

OP, while the only thing new in that city is in the name, I would be happy to give suggestions. Just let me know what your looking for as far as atmosphere and area and I’d be happy to help give some suggestions.

If you are planning on being uptown, Delechaise on Magazine is pretty cool too

Bachelor party? That sounds dangerous. Hope you come back with all your organs! I go all the time for work, but we just eat good food and avoid Bourbon Street. Clancy's is my favorite restaurant but there are hundreds of good ones, Drago's is more casual and the char grilled oysters are fantastic! Angelo Brocato is a cool old school place for Italian deserts and coffee. Probably not the kind of thing you do on a bachelor party, but the WWII Museum is amazing.

Frenchman st>>>bourbon st.

Bacchanal is one of my favorites places there. Great outdoor space, some live jazz, small plate food, wine by the bottle and handmade cocktails.

Another off the beaten path spot that was good was Bratz Y’all. Great German beer hall with outdoor space.

Don't stand in line for beignets at whatever that place is in the French Quarters. Though they are good, they ain't worth an hour in line (on my wife's bucket list, so there I was). If you are going this weekend, let me know if you see my son doing anything he shouldn't. He will be there with his fraternity for formal (what could possibly go wrong?).

Forgot one more - Gio's Pizza in Metairie is a great hole in the wall with good Italian food. It's a family place, a younger couple run it now - him in the kitchen and she waits on the customers. She is a firecracker! It's Johnny Giovatella's family if you follow the Royals.

Coops Place. Edge of the quarter. Total dive bar. Get the jambalaya supreme and fried chicken then come back here and post a thank you for one of the best meals you have ever eaten. Went there 4 times on our last trip and had the same meal each time.

Don’t look at the kitchen. Don’t look at the bathroom. Just enjoy the food.

Also, I quite like the 21st Amendment bar just off Bourbon. Small place. Great drinks. Usually 1-4 jazz musicians sitting about 3 feet from you.

Agree 100 percent on Frenchman’s. The Spotted Cat is always a great time.

Thanks all. Just as long as the hand grenades at the tropic isle still exist I’m golden. Thanks for all suggestions

Also I was just there for a convention, and if you have a Rams jersey or an NFC Champion Rams T-shirt, be sure to wear them. The Saints fans will love it!
