Personally I hope Nebraska gets shut out other than Houston. I would rather see the Huskers get a grad transfer or two and then save those scholarships for more talented 2020 prospects.

I don't understand that line of thinking. If Nebraska were one or two players away from getting into the CFP or from being a top 5 program, then it would make sense. There is no guarantees that the players we would get in 2020 will be any more talented than what we would get in 2019. There will be attrition, the 2020 class will get to 22-25 regardless, and we will be having this same conversation next year at this time. When you get toward the end of the signing period, players will be down to 1 or 2 schools, you won't win 100% of those battles and people will say, we should just hold a scholarship or 2 for 2021.

I agree with not taking reaches, but I don't think any of the players we are in on are reaches.

I would rather see us do that than reach for a last minute prospect, but the guys still on the board are good players worth taking. It looks like Houston, Bivens and Parker or bust, at this point.

So now Frost sucks at finishing? Where is this coming from? We didn’t get Njoku, sounds like we won’t get Jordan... two guys we wanted, sure. But as I already said in another thread, we got Wandale, Ty Robinson, Gates, Henrich, McCaffrey, Benhart, etc., all of whom had offers from big time programs like Alabama, Michigan, Clemson, USC, and a host of other heavy hitters.

But yeah, these coaches can’t finish.

Let me suggest a different theory. Maybe they can finish, as evidenced by the names listed above. Maybe what you meant to say is that they can’t bat 1000. Then you’d be right.
Sorry for making you blow a gasket, but I am no way saying Frost sucks at finishing. Quite honestly I have no idea that is what you took out of my post? I was just telling Tuco that he thinks that we are going to get shut out, because of "Intrusive Thinking". That is basically saying "Frost is a new coach, and you are basing your opinion on past experiences. So don't be too down on the finishing of this class."

Basically what I am telling you is my post is the exact opposite of what you thought it was saying!

To me all these players left in 2019 are lukewarm at best about being a Husker other than maybe Bivens. I would like to see kids passionate about being N because lukewarm commits lead to transfers and wasted development.

What about Soni Fonua seems like everyone has forgot about him? This is what I am talking about, just yesterday everyone was in a completely different mindset, but now that Dylan Jordan said I like TCU and Nebraska, and he said TCU a lot in tweets. We are now out of it for everyone! I guess I just don't see it that way.

Yes, Mao is not visiting anymore. That could mean 100 different things, but I'll name a couple positives and a couple negatives that it could mean.

The Good
  1. We already have the guys we need, and we are full
  2. He already knows enough about us from his cousin he didn't need to see us. Busy getting his grades in order?

The Bad
  1. Mao is a high risk due to grades or something else
  2. He backed out, because he doesn't have interest

I think he was very good as a Sophomore and people out west though he was going to develop into a beast. That is where he got his reputation and initial ranking. Since then he has been injured in both his Jr and Sr seasons, now a lot of people are wondering if it will ever happen for him, which his new rating reflects. I think the potential is still there, but he has missed a lot of time and development with these injuries.
All his injuries should be a concern. If a kid seems to be prone to injuries in high school, it seems to follow them to college. Do we really want a scholarship spot taken up by a guy who will be injured and sitting the bench 50% of the time.

And we've already signed Thompkins who has blown out both knees in high school already. Taking 2 injury-prone running backs doesn't seem like the best use of scholarships when we have more urgent needs on defense.

If he was a true four star talent who staff felt could get healthy and get eligible and had character off the field... then he would have a ton of pac 12 offers, a commitable offer from us and he would have been on plenty of OV’s.

There’s a reason he’s still available and not taking visits. Don’t know if it’s grades or health or character, but it’s something.

I think he was talking about Pola-Mao, not Bivens. It's a fine line between being injured once and being injury prone.

Here is more amateur psychology for you. Intrusive thoughts, that is what you are having right now. You are having them because of Njoku's decision. It is most likely also tied to the fact that our past three coaches sucked at this finishing thing too!

The bolded in your first post is what I was referring to. You are saying our past three coaches sucked at this finishing thing too. That means you are saying Frost sucks as well. That’s what “too” means in this instance.

I don’t understand how that last line means anything but Frost sucks, just like the three previous coaches, at finishing as well.

Edit: sorry that I misunderstood, I just didn’t, and frankly, still don’t, see what you were really saying.

Looks like he just got an offer from KSU and will take his first and only visit there this weekend. Very odd situation

Big12 academics less than BIG??
Could be something like they won’t fill their class anyway, with the coaching change, so it won’t matter if he doesn’t make it and counts against them. Of course, that is just pure speculation on my part.

I’m not sure we will be full
