I haven't been on this board enough

to know what is and what isn't allowed, so I was surprised when the thread I started was locked. I figured that a national story concerning a member of a local Indian tribe could be worth discussing.

Would the thread have been locked if the kids hadn't been wearing MAGA hats? (which btw, had nothing to do with my original post). I have no interest in discussing politics on this board, but is anything that someone could turn into a political thread not allowed?

I think you can expect any thread where politics and religion is the focal point to be eventually locked. This is a football message board and as much as I like to talk politics and religion, this isn’t the place. So I am cool with the locking of the threads

Why don't you email the moderator and let him or her explain to you why your thread was locked?

Alternatively, I guess you could wait for this thread to get locked and then post another thread about that.

If the kids aren’t wearing MAGA hats, you probably never see the video, so it is not relevant.

Sorry, but any political or religious thread we see is going to be deleted or locked. If we think that a post will turn political or religious we will lock it. The climate is just too volitile right now and these threads usually turn into a pissing match and nobody really changes anyone’s minds. This is a football message board. There are plenty of OT threads allowed without politics and religion.
